Really excited by the appointment of Bakes and Unders.

They are passionate about everything they do and they both like to play an exciting brand of football.

With our current players and the players they will want to bring in, I think we can all look forward to a great season.

What I also like about Neil Baker and I'm sure all of us will appreciate, is that he likes to interact with the supporters and tell it as it is rather than everyone second guessing and being kept in the dark.

Well done to Steve and the board for a great appointment!

COYR!!

I would like to say to both of them welcome to our club and wish them well in their endeavours here.

Where's that Hotspur? Led us up the garden path and got me hook line and sinker with the Terry Brown saga. Must admit last night when hearing of the pair joining, felt a bit deflated and that the wait had been a bit of an anti-climax! However, this morning

I can see the merits of such an appointment,as I was mightly impressed last season with Goldaming, too.Plus both new managers have played at Conference level, too,so know the standard of the division, for progress, which can only help and also by the sound of it can bring a few Godalming players with them.

Onward and upward !

Can't wait to see what players join and for pre-season and the full season to get under way.

Come On You Rebels!

I think this is a good appointment for you guys. He's knows the division inside out, did a good job at Godalming, has managed in a few divisions, and will have a good network of players (including local players) - which at this level is so important, sounds like a solid appointment. I came to your game against them last season, if you can get that winger of theirs you'll be in with a good shout.

Yes, been thinking the same thing Geggy. Probably one of the best players we came up against last season.

Ha ha Chris dont you mean good luck to Neil and Jon with that lot behind the goal.

Genuine question Hotspur are you Terry Brown?

What a silly question to behold !

We got the pair we thought we were getting Mr Brown was all smoke and mirrors lol.Though we would have loved to have seen him at Slough Town-I would have been amazed had he applied we are a long way off of his standard-and with no ground the income for his type of player would not have been enough I reckon. His type of proven manager don't always apply THEY GET ASKED !

So I hope these two can get us up-though I have a couple of points to air-They did not achieve anymore than Bateman last season-and referring to their goodbye letter it would seem that just cos a few key players were leaving they did not feel they could do much at Goldaming-dose not say much for their ability and confidense .

They did achieve more than SB last year i.e. play-offs and a cup.

They actually said a 'number' of key players were leaving and 'numerous' others were indicating that they were unhappy and because they would have to re-build the squad almost from scratch they couldn't guarantee success next season to match their ambitions.

I would rather judge Neil and Jon's 'ability and confidence' on the fact that they have built a title challenging, cup winning squad, at Godalming, from scratch, on a small budget.

Not only a few Godalming players but seems they had already approached some new players to strengthen the Godalming squad even further.

Welcome aboard to the new management team looking forward to season coming up.

I watched Goldalming against Hayes and after going down 2-0 in the first half they should of been 4-2 up but in the second half their strength came through and won 3-2.

Both our games against them were hard and entertaining with plenty of goals.

Look at how many points and games we lost when in front in the second half during all of last season with these two in charge this will not happen.

I put a report about that game on our forum at the time and by coincidence Neil was at our game the following week at Fleet as Goldalming had played on the friday night a couple of us had a very easy and down to earth chat with him at the tea bar he was impressed with the fairness of my report and had only good things to say about Slough the team and supporters.

Looking forward to some good times ahead COYR.

Still a bit surprised that one of the local fraternity was not chosen ..................maybe two heads will be better than one in getting us up where we need to be.I guess we all have to reserve judgment for a few weeks but to my mind they need to ensure that we hit the ground running to get as many points as possible as quickly as possible.

With regard to players I genuinely hope that most of last season's squad stay but agree with earlier comment about that very tasty winger that Godalming had....I am sure someone will tell me his name as it has deserted me at this moment.

So I join in the welcome to the new management team with the reminder that expectations are to remain high...........we must get out of this league !
