Thurrock relegated

Recommended Posts

"After the FA hearing, Thurrock and Tilbury moved straight into another hearing in front of Ryman League officials. Given the outcome of the first hearing, Ryman rules left no leeway and both clubs were subjected to points deductions."

“We agreed to accept the FA ruling on the understanding that on appeal, it was the FA’s case that has to be proved by the FA. The Ryman League have to go by their rules, which we understand, and if the West Riding FA can prove Barnett was registered then we will accept our fate"

Given the reported statements above Mr Flood's tweet reproduced below is ill judged he should consider what happened to Sally Bercow.

He then added: "The @rymanleaguenews [Ryman League] are a ******* disgrace. I will release a lot more on this over  the next two days."

Reading the Thurrock web site it would appear that their Appeal will not be for a few weeks - possibly after the league fixtures are out during week commencing 15th July.

They state that, should their Appeal fail, they will go to the High Courts.

Why does it take the League this long to hold an Appeal.

Crazy situation, which ( according to Thurrock ) could mean a delay to the start of all of the Ryman League.

Mad, or what.

I still can't see what the problem is, play ineligible player and lose the points.

I think the circumstances that Thurrock are arguing are that the player in question did not know he was suspended; e.g. his name used without his knowledge on a Sunday league team sheet, 'he' then gets a fine that he doesn't know about, and he's then banned for not paying a fine.

The signatures on the forms he's signed for Thurrock and Tilbury are seemingly completely different to the one used elsewhere; i.e. the one that got the player on the sine die list. This is what Thurrock are arguing about - possibly someone using someone else's identity without their knowledge.

I don't profess to know the full story, no idea how you can get names mixed up.

Let's see what the FA decide - they've been in there a long time.

According to their twitter account they have a Board meeting on Wednesday and seem to be heading for a fight via the Courts.

So, what of the Ryman Season and the start of the League.

Could end up just playing cup games until resolved ??? Plus a friendly league ???

Seriously, this "could" cause a few problems if the Chairman and Board carry out their threat.
