Guernsey & Jersey

I've been missing the Guernsey threads...

1. I see there's some worry about whether there will be any flights between Guernsey and Gatwick after March 2014 due to Flybe selling their slots or something. Not sure quite what implications this has.

2. Could we get a Jersey team in the CCL at some point in the future? They seem to be looking at Guernsey's rise with jealous eyes.

3. And with Gibralter today becoming recognised by UEFA to enter their competitions, could Guernsey, Jersey etc follow suit?

1) Guernsey FC usualy use Aurigny for their flights and it is still be be decided by Easyjet if they will offer a service to Guernsey using the slots brought off FlyBe. If they do not then it is hoped that either another operator will come onboard (probably from a different Airport) or more lilely that Aurigny will either offer more flights (they have some spare slots) and/or operate bigger aircraft

2) Crapaud players very jealous but the JFA are not keen. It is also unlikely to get large crowds as those in Toadland do not support their football as well as its supported in Guernsey, so would make it harder to get sponsorship

3) The Toads have been sniffing round this for ages, Guernsey did look at this quite a few years ago but chose the pymarid in the end. Rules have since changed, now you need to be recognised by the UN to gain membership.

I wonder if Sealand will enter the Thurlow Nunn league, and Rockall can always enter the Highland League.

I think there used to be a website called The Rockall Times years ago.

But Gibralatar are not recognised by the UN so this may set a new precedent.

I understand that, but they applied before the rule was changed. Spain were protesting rather heavily as they are not exactly keen!

If that's the case, they shouldn't England and some of the other Home nations also be kept apart? :)

HYPOCRITE,the very man who merged 15 threads into 1,when Guernsey were in the CCL.Now starts a thread about a now departed Club.Keep reading NLM Bommie for your info?Could not care less about Flybe,or Guernsey for that matter, they are yesterdays news.Still I suppose you could say it was' Social Work' in giving HKP somewhere to post.

Just for our bezzie mates, Chubby, Smudge and Bobuk and anyone who might be interested, we've been asking a few people around our club their thoughts about this season past. Hope it doesn't rattle too many cages ;) http://ormering.com/index.php?pr=2012-13_Season_Questionnaires Enjoy!

It would have been nice (and good manners really) for Tim F Parks to have revealed the source of the above information. He has just cut and pasted an entire article from Ormering, which was brilliantly written by our man in the bushes, John Marquis.
