The Mayor Of Simpleton
http://nonleague.pitchero.com/news/bridgnorth-placed-in-administration-22556/ Very sad news indeed - I've played against them and they were always a good and friendly club. However, Zoe Griffiths has run the club single-handed for years (often without a word of thanks from the grumbling codgers) and even with a recent £50,000 injection from the Olympic Legacy Bridgnorth have still had money problems. The crowds at Bridgnorth, despite them having a good season in the MFA, are paltry even by Step 5 standards. Yes, bigger sides are nearby (West Brom, Wolves, Aston Villa and possibly even Shrewsbury Town) but the town is surely big enough for Step 4 football. As somebody recently said on NLM, a number of clubs are suffering because either the resident population of Bridgnorth don't care about the club or people in the club do not like asking for help from outsiders, weary at what they will do. However, without outsiders coming in, what can clubs like Bridgnorth do in order to survive?
