Got a big opinion of himself for sure.     Ignore him is the best option.  He clearly didn't go into town for fish finger sandwich at the Cupcake Cafe - beats a lousy fryup by miles

Clearly trolling or just plain ignorant... Every person I've met at Margate has been friendly & welcoming. It really is a family club where everyone gets made to feel welcome. To come out & say people's attitudes there are arrogant, unhelpful, puerile & hostile (?!) is honestly slanderous, I've never encountered anyone with any of those traits. On the bright side, if you didn't like our 'bland, unwelcoming ground with poor views' then hopefully you'll never come back again. Enjoy your trainspotting.

"Clearly Trolling" ....Not

"Plain ignorant" .... Not

"Trainspotter" .... Not

Out of three you have .... nil points !

A typical response from someone who is clueless in Planet Thanet.

You see guys it is all about opinions and you people take offence to that. Your concentration should be on why your team only achieved 2 points out of the last 21 points available.  After watching you at Lewes, i better not share my opinion, otherwise more bile will come my way.

Maybe Mary Portas could come to help you out in Margate ? ;)

Hornchurch fans have always found margate to be a friendly, welcoming, lovely bunch, especially pagey

that's what's valued feedback from proper away supporters not a person on a 'one man mission' to slate and criticise a club cause of one bad day.......

The only part I agree with is there is definitely an element at our club who won't accept any criticism. The "official" Facebook page and also this forum I'm afraid can be very "clicky" and narrow minded.

That said I think the "ground hopper" has visited, didn't like it so its simple - STAY AWAY.

Did not know the club had an official Facebook page. Can you post the link here please.

Although I will only accept constructive criticism of the club I sort of understand what "Up the Gate" says - when I first started coming to games on my own rather than bringing disinterested grandchildren I felt that there was a clique of some kind so kept myself to myself but realised after a while that there is a bunch of  people who support through thick and thin and put their money where their mouth is as for example Mark Sandwell does and of course they discourse with each other more than with casuals.  I'm a regular now and have always been treated warmly and cordially by everyone at the club and that includes the Directors  Having been locked out of major arenas in the past  I wonder if there is some kind of league requirement about not being in football grounds before 13.30 for 15.00 kick off which rule a certain gentleman managed to circumnavigate and possibly didn't receive the warm welcome he thought he should have got - I note there are photographs including the inside of the kit room which is somewhat disturbing.   If he had been refused admission before the correct time which is maybe how we should have reacted I guess the blog would still have been scathing but there you go.   I understand from visiting teams that Margate is one of the few clubs where a decent after match repast is offered to the players and staff of the visiting team and not 'muck on plastic plates' as i was decribed to me at one away game I was at.   Onwards and upwards for next season !

Its unfortunate but there's definitely an undercurrent where some supporters think they are better than others.

Not clueless at all, just don't see the point of you coming on here to reiterate your views, which you've previously posted about. We got it the first time, for whatever reason you had a bad experience here. Not sure why you felt the need to come here & tell us that you've mentioned you said we had the 'worst ground' (clearly never visited Whitehawk then) and 'least friendly club'... Just feels like you're on the windup & trying to get negative reactions. If you didn't enjoy your time here then feel free to post it on your inane blog & leave it there. Also fail to see where the alleged 'bile' is coming from.

In a wider context I found Onion Bag's Oscar awards quite interesting.

Looks like he did catch us on a bad day and a few mix-ups from both sides--and OB can only report on how he finds it.

Its surely only a bit of fun-and it may not be the most widely read site in the world.

I don't think Margate will be kicked out of the ryman league over it.

The main thing is-the sample size is small-one visit-but 'first impressions 'and all that.

Hope fully OB will recognise on here that post his visit, we entered into similar debate-and Mr Egan endeavoured to contact him-and invited him back ?

Not sure if that happened.

Maybe OB will come back next season-and we will win his new award for most significant change.

I similarly disagree  with what OB posted-but if he feels that way-let him post.

If nothing else-if this leads to just one aspect of the customer experience (which most recognise is good anyway) is improved further-medium term it has been of benefit

Again-in a wider context I thought he had an interesting site-and have to admit ;his site/awards has made me put Bury Town on my list of grounds/games to visit next season.

Living 7  miles away from the ground-also echo his comments about brimscombe and thrupp, and after their promotion look forward to  Margate  playing  there in the FA cup 3Q next season
