readingrebel
Have the rules changed as regards signing and registering players for the forthcoming season? As far as I'm aware you could sign a player once a club have received registration forms but they would not be officially signed until the players had been registered by the league, I think, sometime in July. Royston, for example, have announced on their Twitter feed that they have signed 5 players and they have produced a photograph of the players, holding a Royston shirt, announcing that they have signed for the club. Just wondered if they have jumped the gun or that the rules had changed and that clubs can officially register players for their clubs as of now? Windsor_Sec
As Chris has said they may have signed either a contract or a pre-contract agreement. Kay is also correct but if the players signs a form now then the club would have 'priority of registration' if there were any queries at a later date. The final option is a non-FA contract [something like a contract of employment] which is a private arrangement between player and club but without all the clauses in the official FA contracts !
