" What if "...Eurovision...Saturday

Yes, "what if" we had put in some effort in those nightmare 6 games near the end of the season."What if" we had a new ground. A year of "what ifs".

Connection with Eurovision you ask? Well "What if" has a very good chance in the greatest show of the year

;) :D

Russia with a classy & strong ballad that ekes class. The competition isn't normally noted for ballads winning & I haven't heard all the songs yet & I might find another "class act" amongst those others too but this ones gonna go close.

14/1 at the moment. (ladbrokes)

They still have to get through the 1st semi-final tonight which includes the current favourites of Denmark. (On BBC 3 live tonight).

Both should go through but my tip thus far is RUSSIA and "What If ". Loreen did it for me last year so lets see if I can double up.

("You know you all love it")  ;) ^_^

I'm backing Armenia, as their entry features Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi.

Mayor, did you enjoy Finland's entry 7 years ago then?

Come down to Burnham to hear it on the 26th if you did

I've missed this banter :P you know I might even watch it just because Cookie does! :D

Arrrr love you. Both Russia and the "hot" favourites Denmark go through in a canter. Denmark now hardened to odds on 8-11 (unbelievably) and Russia, despite going through go out to 16/1.?? Good song by Denmark but not an odds on shot i.m.o.Its there to be shot at despite the Bookies seeming to think its home and dry already but I'm not convinced it is.

Some other interesting ones in there last night. Estonia and Ukraine to name but two. I liked the rock & roll one too (Lithuania I think it was) but the lyrics are crap.

If that Dutch one wins I'll strip naked through the streets of Margate. Oops, should I have said that. This IS the Eurovision Song contest after all where the unexpected often triumphs. Its crap that song though, really boring but some are tipping it to win. Weird! It surely can't win the contest...surely not...could it?

I'll stick by the Russians for the moment unless I hear any better in the second semi final. Might take an early listen to those tomorrow prior to Thursdays other semi-final.

Still think Russia is "class", though Estonia have a very pleasant song sung well.

Russia now down to 12-1 (cracking e.w bet i.m.o) Denmark still odds on favourites at 8-11.

Tonight is the 2nd semi final (live on BBC 3) and this bunch are really really poor compared to the 1st semi final entrants.

Only one country has an outstanding chance to win this semi-final compared to the rest of them. That is GEORGIA.

Malta might get scrape through but for the rest of them they are all pants.

The winner of the competition will definately come from the first semi final entrants.

GEORGIA to win tonights 2nd semi final by a mile ,currently 2/1 second favourites to do so.

Additional information.Netherlands, which in my opinion is the worst song for years yet highly regarded by quite a few (can't imagine why) is at 25-1 with Ladbrokes.

If past records are anything to go by & with this being the worst and most boring song ever (i.m.o.only of course) it is a sure fire winner but it wont be getting any of my money I can assure you.

Quite enjoyed the Romanian entry having heard it again. It's certainly different but has it the class to win though. I doubt it but a big outsiders e.w. chance I reckon.
