Wouldn't it be brilliant if he did get the job.Our attendances would certainly go up and we would get a lot of publicity and also attract some bloody good players to our level. Also we wouldn't languish in this league for long.

The NLP article highlighted Slough in a positive light and there were mentions for Roy Merryweather,Darren Wilkinson and Dave Anderson. So with wishful thinking from my part,Terry Brown just might be thinking about Slough Town FC,as his next project.

You never know, stranger things have happened. It would be a major coup for our club.A pipedream maybe, but I'm crossing my fingers just the same.

Your right stranger things have happened in football but I'll still be gobsmacked if Terry Brown is our new manager.

Bit surprised by his comment that he has put 3 applications in and as yet had no replies.

I still stand by predictions of Gary Haylock closely followed by Neil Baker and his sidekick Jon Underwood with an outsider bet on Nas Bashir.

Neil Baker and Jon Underwood have signed on the dotted line for another season with Godalming according to Non-league Daily News.

Nas Bashir,as much as I liked him as a Slough Town player,is a coach not the manager in my eyes.He would be the ideal man to bring players through, especially those with natural ball skills and proper dribblers. Not so sure about defenders! Just like he was as a player.

Garry Haylock may be the man.He can motivate average players and is no one's fool.Has achieved success at other clubs but can also work on a budget.

If Terry Brown wasn't in the equation, then I could only see a straight fight out between Gary Haylock and Keith Scott for the job.

I personally, don't think Byron Walton should be underestimated either,if Slough are looking to progress on the cheap.

Don't envy our chairman's job!.

Agree that Nas Bashir is more a coach than a manager. His one venture so far in management was at Hayes and Yeading and was a bit of a disaster.

Then again I think H&Y supporters were glad to see the back of Haylock.

Keith Scott would certainly come in and ruffle a few feathers.

I would say a bit of a minefield for Steve and the committee to get the right man in.

True and True.

Haylock got the job done at Hayes & Yeading though. He kept them in the top flight for two seasons then left and Hayes & Yeading went down under Bashir who was never the right man for the job.

With all the names so far mentioned on this site, and some that have not been but get talked about separately it would have been good if a local bookie was running odds on the appointment....after all bookies seldom get it wrong !

I think a Bookie would go skint because Hotspur knows who it is even before the club do.
