Bateman leaves by mutual consent

Yep.....most recently at Bedfont before they went under......

I seem to remember Bedfont being very good going forward when he was there, if we coupled his attacking experience with say Woozley as assistant to cover teh defensive side it could be a very good setup

Of course its only a rumour

As in yeading haylock?

Naz Bashir, Joe Mitchel, Terry Brown are all available. I cannot see it being Keith Scott as he's been available for ages and probably been applying for every job that comes up. For some reason he never seems to get a job !!!!!

Naz Bashir

HP9 I don't know if he could be tempted to our level of football but would be my first choice. Young, ex-player, excellent coaching qualifications and knows all about developing young players. He runs the academy my nephew goes to and he's a very enthusiastic character.

Have to say, Naseem Bashir was the first name that came to mind when news about Bateman leaving broke. Ex-Slough player from the late 80s, didn't work out for him at Hayes & Yeading, but definitely has the background and experience in coaching, especially young players. Have to say, Garry Haylock comes across as someone who only wants to work with huge amounts of money, which is apparently the reason he left H&Y -- didn't want to get his hands dirty on a reduced budget.

Michael, wouldn't explain why he had a spell at Bedfont, hardly renowned for being a "big budget" club.

Gary Haylock was the manager of Bedfont Town FC because he got the push from Farnborough FC halfway through the 2011/12 season and still got paid by Farnborough FC up until the end of the 2011/12 season so he did the Bedfont Town job for free as he was friends with the the Bedfont Town FC chairman Doug White and he wanted to put himself in the shop window.

Almost, when he parted company with Farnborough I understand he was under contract and would therefore not be able to take another paid employment and had a desire to setup an academy and his own coaching business out of the location in Bedfont.  When Doug White walked out in February Haylock could have easily have followed as he really had been misled of the situation but credit to him, and to dispel the notion he will only work with big budgets, he worked with £0 budget for the rest of the season and every player bar one (who was saving for his wedding) continued to play for the club because of the opportunity to work with and learn from him.

I've heard a whisper today that he would be interested in the job and I would highly recommend your chairman speaks with him as he would be an outstanding choice to take STFC back up the pyramid where they belong.

Yes that was what i was led to believe.

Gary Haylock did a very good job at Hayes & Yeading United but i must say he rubbed up a few people at the club in the wrong way and was not a fans friendly manager but he got the job done thats for sure.

We don't need some old player with no real experience or a failed reject from a lower club status than ours-we need TERRY BROWN been saying it for months now.He may cost a lot but the improved crowds when we are top of the league would help pay for him.Whatever we do we must not go down the Sweetman road.
