Dave Woozley picked up 3 awards Supporters Player of the Year, Players Player and Managers Player.

Alex Brown Runner up Supporters Player of the Year.

Ed Smith  Golden Boot.

Adam Martin Player of the Month.

Paul Lillywhite award for retiring after 14 years service.

And as Steve B said on the night ( as I've been saying for ages ) anyone could come to him after games for a chat about why this and that.

So how many of the forum mob was there? ( I'd guess 3 Sue, Gary [Horsham] and me ).

Congrats to all on awards.

I couldn't be there as was working but was getting updates from araas. Good to hear that Bateman has a plan for the future should we stick with him. He will get us promoted.

Come on you rebels

Mark,

SB would soon get pissed off if after every game supporters queued up to ask him questions like:

Why didn't you play this or that formation

Why didn't you play this player instead of that player

Why wasn't, for example, Logie named as sub when we were short of players on the bench

etc  etc

The most sensible way forward is to have a regular question and answers forum between management and supporters.

What's the plan for the future?

He actually held up one of his cue cards to show everyone.  All it had written on it was 'the future', and nothing else.  He said he is having more talks with the chairman over the weekend.

I for one am hoping he stays.

RR - he did say he is always willing to answer questions, so he should be prepared for questions like that repeatedly.  But as very few people actually approach him and just moan on here, he clearly doesn't have to worry about becoming fed up with it!

It's also interesting that after all the moaning and complaining on here about how terrible things have been with losing some of the games, particularly in the last month....our two central defenders were runner up and winner of the supporters' player of the season competition.

So Steve B says anyone can come up and talk and da da excuse not to talk to him.

Even I can answer this one:-

Why wasn't, for example, Logie named as sub when we were short of players on the bench

Because when you've had concussion you can't play for 2 weeks.

                                                          easy JUST ASK.

Get over it, it's a fan forum, where people can give their opinions and start debate...

We're all different, good for you for having the balls to talk to the manager face to face but a lot of people don't like face to face confrontation, end of!

If this continues this forum may as well be shut down, there are fans forums for clubs up and down the land to use freely, this forum is no different!!!

Lastly, when did anyone ever moan about the performances of Alex Brown and Dave Woozley this season, no one ever held them solely responsible for our bad run of form, a defence can still play well and a team can still lose or be on a bad run of form, a defence of 3, 4 or 5 players still needs help from the rest of the team, old cliche, defending starts from the front!

I'm baffled by that comment, I can't remember anyone singling out any particular individual player for criticism, you win as a team and lose as a team!

Brown and Woozley deserved their awards, ever since they have joined the club they have epitomised consistency and professionalism!

Dave Woozley and Alex Brown are characters and play with their heart on their sleeve.Anyone with an ounce of integrity

would recognise these assets.

Unfortunately,Slough lack this quality through some of the team and lack the spirit of a team ethos to be successful.

Hence another season of failure, which some supporters fail to recognise, while others out of the club clique can evidently see easily !

Whilst I agree that people should be able to voice their opinions this post is about recognition for pm the players who received awards yesterday and we should all recognise that.

The problem is not that people voice their opinions, it's that every post that is good is shot down.

It's a matter of opinion, which one's are good and which one's are bad.

The five awards that were mentioned at the start of this thread went to the right people IMO, so I concur with that.

Agreed. I think having a quality player like smith we now have a challenge for the golden boot.

At the start of the season we would have all said burnell but smith has come in and done fantastic and this competition can only lead to good results

Mark, thanks for posting. Wasn't able to make it there as was helping friends move house and with the late change of date, honored my original agreement.

Well done to those who picked up awards, especially Wooz for collecting three to top off a very good season for him. Also, a big thank you to Paul Lillywhite for all his help over the years. Often unnoticed with the amount of time and effort he has put into sorting things out for the players, outside of the kit preparations he was doing. He's been a fantastic servant to the club and I'm sure will be very hard to replace next season.

Maybe there would be a thread without a slanging match if there wasn't an unnecessary dig!

Just want to say good luck to all on here, my account is in the process of being disabled and I won't be back, the "school prefect" mentality of some on here is far too tedious!

Best of luck, CR
