Warro

Recommended Posts

I think Im correct in saying that James Warringtons contract was up at the end of the season? Does anyone know if it has been renegotiated? By for and away the best keeper weve had for many years and one we shouldnt let slip away.

I think I'm right in saying that the club knew earlier in the season that Warro was due to miss some end of season mid week games.

Agree that Warro is a top keeper and we'll be lucky to keep him.

Must also say that if he improved his dead ball kicking and practiced using his right foot other than to stand on, he could easily make it higher up the football pyramid.

I thought last year that he was easily to good to play at our level. I personally think we've been lucky to keep him for as long as we have done.

Depends how high up he wants to get.

IMO keepers higher up the pyramid will be expected to dead kick a ball beyond the half way line and when under pressure be able to clear a ball with both feet.

Very good keeper but some way short of the Slough greats.

Quality keeper and the best I have seen in my years supporting

Hope we can keep him but can see why he would want to play higher.

As for the midweek thing. He is doing his degree and was on a placement. I know we all think it but football isn't the be all and end all

Ive been watching since August 1960 when Geoff Redford was keeper  I think the  best keepers were Trevor Bunting and Chris Reynolds.

My top 4 would be Teale-Parsons-Wolstenholme and the one who went on to play for Arsenal ( surname escapes me) Paul ?

Some great names from the past listed on this thread. It was Paul Barron who turned pro in the mid 70's and I think John Granville played for Slough before he played for Wycombe. I was lucky enough to see Alf Wiltshire play, albeit at the end of his career, and Peter Prunty was also a very good keeper. My favourite, however, has always been Alan Binfield.
