Camaraderie

Can I just say what a pleasure it has been once again to be a Slough fan this season...all the chat , banter and gossip in the clubhouse before matches, the half time verdicts over a cup of tea , the post match analysis as we walk back to the cars............thanks to all friends, both long term and recent, for making the season enjoyable and we have to say roll on July and the pre season.

And particular thanks to those who were so kind when I had my personal tragedy last autumn...........................

See you all after the break...............or maybe at the presentation night

The opening post and its endorsements are good to read. I hate to think what would have been written if this forum or something like it had existed in our "good" days of the late 60's/early 70's. Blood on the floor/walls after every defeat-and there weren't that many. Not for nothing did an article in an opponents' programme suggesting possible collective nouns for the supporters of teams they played against come up with "a misery of Slough Town supporters".

Well said Graham. The reason i still support Slough is feeling like my extended family - which is why we took the death of Chris Sliski so hard. Having a laugh, meeting up in strange places you'd never usually visit before a game for a few beers, chatting to opposition fans, letting my boys run out as mascots, going out for a meal where Sue took 'eat as much as you can' a bit to literally. It's these special ingredient that makes supporting Slough so important and enjoyable to me.

I just wish some of us would take a step back sometimes and stop demanding their forum 10th commandment rights and realise that we are just a small club, run by bloody hard working volunteers. We're its possible to resolve our differences face to face, or have a rant to our footballing friends without the need to broadcast to the whole world.

I've got one of the biggest most opinionated mouths, but i hope over the years i've learnt that sometimes what i think in the heat of the moment doesn't equal what's best for the club.

A regular-ish football forum is a brilliant idea. In the meantime let's have a bit or respect and before typing, think - is what im about to say really going to help the club I support?
