Hakim Medfai gives Hadley a 2-1 lead in virtually the last kick of the first period of extra time

Hadley get a penalty turned down, Aylesbury go straight up the other end and make it 2-2

3-2 Aylesbury

Fantastic match to watch tonight, real contrast in playing styles.  Hadley patient, passing the ball around, Aylesbury more direct playing to the strength of their 2 pacy front men.  Heartbreak for Hadley in the end, but a great resilient performance from Aylesbury to come from behind in extra time and win.  Special mention for their second goal, scored by Baines, rocket of a shot that gave the keeper no chance.  Good to see a decent crowd as well, over 300, must have been more than 250 from Aylesbury.

Hadley were a very good footballing side when we played them, deserve a cup final. Didn't get a chance to play against Aylesbury this season, but from what's said they seem like they'll be a very strong force next season should they not go up

Also congratulations to Hadley reserves who have just won the reserve league on the back of London Colney not being able to put a side out tonight. Well done to all involved, been an excellent side this year.

For anyone at a loose end on Friday night. Berko vets vs Tring Athletic vets. 7.30 ko at Broadwater. Kit bag packed & ready to go!

How'd that game go keith? ... Are the legs, arms and back still recovering?

That's really poor isn't it particularly as they were at home

Fairly comfortable win, only 1-0 at half time despite us dominating. 2nd half was more even but we ran out 6-1 winners which was probably a fairer reflection of the game. We had half a dozen drop out late but still put a fairly strong team out . Made a couple of decent saves but not so good for the goal !  Saying that it was the first time I'd played in a year so being a little rusty was not unexpected. No injuries, the knee seemed ok, a glimmer of hope for next season maybe.

Rolling back the years (posted Sat 4th May 2013)

Athletic "legends" came out of retirement on Friday night to beat Berkhamsted 6-1 at Broadwater. Tring dominated possession in the first half and went into the break 1 up thanks to a Gary Langdale volley from a corner. Berko played better in the second half but Tring's midfield class shone through to pull all the right strings, racing into a 4 goal lead before the home side pulled one back. Tring scored 2 further goals to complete the rout. The Tring side included Keith Eldridge, Grant Mosley, John Perry, Neil Foskett, David Foskett, Julian James, Gary Langdale, & Ian Ranger, who must have played at least 3000 games between them for Tring. There were 2 familiar faces playing for the home team in former Athletic manager Phil Casserley and midfielder Lee Groves.

We hope to arrange a further game in September so any current / former players over 35 please get in touch.
