Fair points though Slough still have an average attendance higher than 1/3 of the clubs in the Southern Premier so should be able to compete with at least some of the teams budget-wise and still spend sensibly.

It would also be reasonable to expect the average attendance to rise with promotion and there would be bigger teams in the premier hopefully bringing more away fans too.

Hopefully next season the forum link will be removed from the official club website.

This forum needs to be further distanced from the club.

Why?

As I've said before this forum is positively sweet and lovely compared to other club's forums that I've perused, where they hang draw and quarter management and players for poor performances etc.

I'm sure that most of us don't want that kind of forum and I'm sure that it wouldn't be allowed to get that far.

So far I haven't seen anything typed on this forum that has broken any of the forum rules.

I'm sure Steve Bateman hasn't taken anything personally if he's read some of the negative comments.

He will know that it's par for the course for any Manager at any club, successful or not.

Ha ha good, glad I can make someone happy

I remember donkeys years ago Chelsea fans were losing 7 nil or such like at Nottingham Forrest and they sang "Always look on the bright side of life" and they might not of won the league this year but they arnt doing too bad.

So lets keep the faith

Nigel - If the club wishes to distance itself from the forum, it also needs to control the tweets some of the players make, as some of those have done the club major damage - i.e. Barton.

Also Steve Bateman needs to review what he says to the papers as a lot of these have backfired - i.e. the Burnham comments.

My personal opinion is that we should be in the southern prem and be content in that division until we move back to slough. Southern div 1 is too low, ground or no ground !

Went to watch Burnham Vs Poole yesterday (needed a non league fix from anywhere). Hard to believe those two sides finished top of their respective leagues. Not the best footballing sides. Gotta take my hat off though coz they got the job done. Don't see them making any impact on the prem though.
