Play offs

Agree enough is enough now.

If you want hotspur you can join the fantasy football league and prove everyone wrong again next year.

You can even do it from your keyboard :)

This is where you keep going wrong-I have seen and supported SLOUGH probably more times than the lot of you put together so have an entitlement for an opinion-still I am pleased you reconise that I know what I AM TALKING ABOUT.

It does not guarantee a team will be good the season after a decent season but however it is usually a very strong indication! Rugby have a good set up with a superb ground for this level and therefore 'usually' have a decent team to go with it. I'm not resorting to a slanging match and I hold my hands up and freely admit that you were correct in your prediction for this season. Shame that as a true slough fan you are so pleased it came true. Personally I'd be gutted to be right when gambling against a team I have followed so avidly and loyally for a long time. I guess that makes me blinkered and unable to see the facts. However, if true enlightenment is to be ecstatic when something you care about fails to achieve, I would be far happier in my blinkered world of criticising and giving my opinion yet supporting throughout.

Prove it

Prove what-that i have been supporting Slough for over 50yrs.( easily done with programes from1958 onwards  and memories of all the big matches, but like your reply pointless, cos if you were not born then how would you know )

The other point that i know what i am talking about is self evident and has already been proved !

If you had been following properly you would know that i backed Slough to win the league and covered myself with Ian's bet.( who do i ask to see if he;s given the money to the club ). So i am as gutted as you are.

Hotspur (genuine, no provocative question).... in recent months, you have seemed quite sure that Slough were not going to get automatic promotion (I am not sure if this predication included failure to make the play offs too).

As a fan, at what point of the season did you start having your 'concerns' / 'doubts' that we weren’t good enough to go up? I ask, as at the start of the season ALL fans (including the cynics) must have some kind of optimism that their club will do well that season?

I ask, there must have been a time in this season, something clicked with you and you thought (we just aren’t good enough to go up).

I must admit, I started to have my concerns straight after Uxbridge did the double over us and when we had so many games called off in Feb / March (having to play so many away from home).

When we started losing to what I consider " lesser sides ".

Anyone can get a 50 year old prog, from a club shop, ebay, or loads of different websites, does not prove anything.  All of this is getting tedious for everyone now.  Can we just let it drop?  In my opinion it does not matter how long you have watched the team to be able to form an honest opinion.  All Slough supporters are just as valid as each other, if we alieniate each other there is no fans for the future.  For what it's worth I have no doubt that Hotspur is a true Slough fan and has watched from before even I was born (1962).  I have watched on and off since 1971.  Others first games were this season.  All have valid opinions as to the state of the club we all love!  See you next season....

How many Martians have played for Slough?

It's all academic. It doesn't make anyone's opinion more or less valid.

Obviously you are to young to know-but dont end up like clive t and one or two others on here by that i mean brain dead.
