Eastside Urchin
Have been thinking about this this week, but I actually think it could be beneficial for the club to go back to the Ryman Premier next season.Dont get me wrong,I would love another crack at the Connie South and to visit some of the grounds I missed this season and obviously I hope it comes in the way of a reprieve this season (although dont wish clubs to go bust). But going back down to the Ryman next year holds no fears,Whitehawk are the ones with the cash, they have gone.I don't think many others have lots of cash and I think we could walk that league next season. Our gates will probably go up with all the derbies, gates against Grays, Ricay,Canvey, wealdstone, lowestoft on a Saturday should attract 5-600 plus if we are doing well and there are a few other teams with decent support. I think re grouping would actually do the club some good, get back to winning ways and try once again to get the local population through the gates. I am convinced that this club can average 450-500 again, not sure when but I am convinced.Maybe a real decent cup run is only round the corner. Don't get me wrong,I want Connie South Footy next season but I won't be gutted if we don't get it.
Miss.A.F.C.Hornchurch
i would choose conference south over the ryman any day. Agree with what you say about regrouping, i think we could be a strong team next season if a reprival doesnt happen.
Eastside Urchin
I am not convinced we will get a reprieve. Farnborough seem to have played the system and just taken 10 points and guaranteed their place in connie south next season. I expect one of the sides in the north tomorrow to win,not sure two clubs will go to enable us to continue in connie south
cup of tea
There's two sides in the Conference North on 43 points, both need to win to take us out of the equation. To be honest, there's only an outside chance anyway, and it will require someone other than Farnborough to go under which I wouldn't want to see. I still want to win today just in case. There are benefits to playing in the Ryman Premier, the travelling costs are going to reduce, both for the club and fans and I believe that the attendances will be around the same and potentially even higher with the aforementioned derbies. Enjoyed the BSS, I believe that Jimmy et al. would be better prepared second time around.
shrimper
would take confrence south over ryman any day much better faster football ryman is more of hoofball which bores fans away we could be loooking up to the likes of concord or even east thurrock next season , , even the likes of canvey only getting 300 or so at home games this year the crowds are dropping off all over the league at lowestoft this year the crowd is way down on the last few seasons that they were getting , im not so sure we would get masses of fans from local clubs turn up apart from maybe grays its just not happening anymore . and if we get the likes of midweek games against the likes of wingate etc we would do well to get 200 , seem to remember some games were that way in the last season we had in the ryman and we were doing well in the league
YELLOW
The standard and quality of football in the Ryman this season has been dreadful. There's not been a side this season that is as good as the likes of Dover, Dartford or even Sutton who have won it in previous years. The likes of Lowestoft and Wealdstone who made the play offs last season and have made them again are no way near as good as they was last season. The whole standard really seems to have gone down to the extent the league is almost like a glorified ryman 1 north.
cup of tea
That's worrying - the standard in the BSS was a lot higher than the Ryman Premier we left. It's going to be even more difficult for clubs to go up and survive in the BSS (or whatever it's going to be called next season) unless they have money behind them
