Smudge
With all the Football knowledge in abundance on this Forum, that no one has picked up on why Guernsey Results have worsened since November 17th 2012.At that point they had played 16,Won 14,Drawn 1,Lost 1.Yes you can blame the Weather,an F.A.Vase run,Fixture congestion etc,but I think it has nothing to do,with any of the above.Ross Allen has rightly taken the plaudits for his Goalscoring skills, but without Ryan Zico Black who in my opinion, made Guernsey tick, they are very beatable as Results have shown. Panthera
We agree on one thing, in that Ryan Zico Black is a brilliant and very influential player who Is revered not only by the fans, but also his fellow players. But one man does not make a team, and while GFC do miss Zico, we have had some great guys step up to the plate and fill the gaps. However, the schedule has taken its toll on the team. They are physically and mentally exhausted, and lord knows how we are going to fare over the next few days and weeks; our toughest challenge yet. All I can say is that the faithful crowd will be there to support the guys through thick and thin, and will be back again next season (promotion or not)because they understand the situation and the commitment from the lads. Every game is experience and it will make us stronger in the long run.
HKP
Whilst a player of Zico's class has of course been missed the schedule is the bigger reason why results have slipped. To be fair we did reach the FA Vase semi-final without Zico!
E&E Rich
Absolutely HKP it's all about the schedule. Most clubs have had at least one player with a season ending injury and those who haven't are lucky. Guernsey's form was excellent right up until recently, and arguably it was the Spennymoor matches that were the tipping point. Since then you could argue that form has got worse but until then, they'd only lost at Camberley and Egham.
Chris Clapham
Guernsey's Matt Loaring is as good a player as I have seen this season. Destined for better things for sure!
Big J R
Maybe Guernsey should start their own forum within the CCL site on here. After all, Windsor did. I've lost count of the number of topics almost exclusively devoted to the Beautiful Isle here !!!!
