tonbridge last 2 games are both at home to eastbourne and truro , you would think that the eastbourne game would give them that point on tuesday night :( still the table dosent lie at the end of the season we are where we are

Must win our last game for obvious reasons i.e. it'll ensure we finish 3rd bottom (unless 'Ricay fail to win at Farnboro' midweek then we'll be 3rd bottom at worst anyway).

But also, reprieves work across the Conference regionals (I'm sure Pete / Dagger will correct if I'm wrong) so if the 3rd bottom Connie North finishes above us then they'll be reprieved first. Hasn't really been an issus as the sides struggling in the Connie North were well behind in points but recently they've all started winning.

Current Connie North

18th Colwyn Bay - 43 points from 40

19th Corby Town - 43 from 41

20th Histon - 42 from 40

21st Droylsden - 22 from 41 relegated

22nd Hinckley - 7 from 40 relegated

As it stands, the first reprieve would be Histon's .. then us, then 'Ricay, Droylsden, Truro and Hinckley.

That's an excellent question. I've enjoyed the different grounds this season but having a better chance of winning does appeal to me. Perhaps Hornchurch and Billericay were too sucessfull too quickly. Wouldn't have missed this season though.

"Any club worth its salts wan't to play at the highest level they can even if that's a struggle. Rather have "a walk on part in the war than a lead role in a cage" (Pink Floyd )

Very much agree with the above, a case of "wish you were here". Although in my opinion we need to work on things off the pitch to make the club grow to enable us to play at a higher level ." Another brick in the wall"

Easier said than done.............

We were probably successful in the wrong season but yes it was nice to play different teams. This winter has played havoc on gates, particularly with so many games re-arranged for midweek, when attendances are much lower. I take the other points about aspiring to play at a higher level, but not at the risk of financial instability.

wont be easy back in the ryman league thats for sure ( as thurrock found out this season ) still teams in the ryman league with bigger budgets and gates than we have , maybe a few seasons in mid table just to keep things stable and ready to build on might be one way to go , hopefully the crowd figure over the season wouldnt be much lower than with have had in the 'south' this season we will have more local derby's to get a decent crowd in but that will be offset by the games against the likes of wingate , met police etc which are normally low , but even with the poor results this year im still glad we had the year in the conference south and i would have loved another season in it , when the chance comes to go up you have to take it and try and make the most of it , who knows when it will come round again when your are trying to get out of a league with only one automatic and one play off place available for promotion

there are one or two players in the squad at the moment who might intrest a few teams from leagues higher than the ryman next season , can see a few moving on during the summer and maybe the squad needs some freshing up at the same time have to wait until around august to find out i suppose

Hello All,

Talk at our game on Saturday was that Farnborough will be quitting so thats one reprieval place up for grabs.....then in close season you never know what is going to happen......Isn't there a ridiculous stat that says the 3rd bottom team has never been relegated since the conference south started

Indeed, assuming statto.com is correct ..

The way the Connie North and South were progressing it was nailed on that if there was a reprieval it would go to the South but with North's Colwyn Bay winning 5 in a row they're now virtually safe. The teams in the frame are North's Colywn Bay (46), Bishop's Stortford (45), Corby (43) and Histon (42) plus those from the South i.e. Tonbridge (44), AFC Hornchurch (41) and Billericay (37).

Bishop's Stortford, Histon, Tonbridge and Billericay all play their game in hand tonight.
