cup of tea
Sutton just too good for us unfortunately. Great third goal for them, real pace. Wayne Gray goal a cracker. Soft first goal for them. No faulting the players.
kimbles left foot
The question you have to ask yourself is did they play like a team that wants to stay up? The answer in my eyes is no.....there was no desire throughout and no shape second half. I can handle watching us lose every game as long as the commitment, desire and passion is there and today like a few times this season there was zero as a team. Individually a few of the usual suspects played well (Styles...considering cm is not his preferred position and Bentley who is a cracking player) but we seem to be carrying a few and with such a small squad they are clearly in auto mode knowing they wont lose their position as there is no one else to take it. Wivenhoe Urchin
To be honest it was a tough ask today to get a result and I thought we had a good chance with the way we played. For me we showed more desire today, but it wasn't enough and Sutton had the quality to win the match. We have rarely been the better side in matches this season and needed more luck earlier on to win more matches.
cup of tea
Just surprised that Sutton isn't further up the table. Welling is easily the best team in the league, but Sutton are okay.

'We showed desire', Dont really think we did, notable performances from Styles, Bentley and Coyne. other then that it has been the same week in week out. for a short period in the game i though we was going to score a second but they defence just held out, Been many places this season but that has to be the worst ground i have been to in the blue square south, anyone else agree? shrimper
sutton played well and hornchurch huffed and puffed but on the day just wasnt good enough in a must win game most tried hard joe pulled off some good saves and then at other times ermmm he wasnt quite as good , it did seem that one of our players that came on seemed to have taken a deck chair onto the pitch to enjoy the sun but that apart the others in the main worked hard.. after charging £12 to go in they then try and charge another pound for a seat , the pitch oh thats somewhere in the middle makes watching at hornchurch feel that your right on top of the action
urchinman1961
Matched sutton for most of the game even had them on the ropes at one stage but our inability to finish them off and we tired badly in the last fifteen minutes and the hosts were running riot even that ricky had an excellent chance to pull back the deficet
cup of tea
It was Sutton's additional fitness that won the day unfortunately.

Lord Upminster
In a game where we had to we win we showed commitment and desire but to no avail. Sutton were the better team and the score line was a true reflection of the fact. The league table does not lie at this stage of the season. It is not being unlucky, our small squad and maybe our tactics at times are not good enough at this level. However I have enjoyed this season, visiting new grounds, playing new teams and most of all watching a better standard of football. For this I say thank you to the club. I am sure the club is already making plans for next season with the lessons and experience of this season in mind. It would be good to finish our campaign next Saturday with a good performance from the team and a stylish resounding win if possible, and a decent attendance through the gates. Come on you Urchins…………….

paokman
You said it lord U, attendance is everything, need to top up the coffers. Can't speak highly enough of the efforts made ny the management but still they won't come thro the gate. Except on special occasions.
