4.7. After examining a formal complaint that postings on a Twitter account feeding into the official Hertford Town website made derogatory remarks about St Margaretsbury, it was agreed that Hertford be charged under Rule 8.21.

What was said?

And:

19.3. Hoddesdon Town requested that in the event that they do not finish in a promotion position, they be considered for a place in the Premier Division

Standard then. Do they need to send the request every season?!

I think the offending article was in the following - scroll down to the 8th April entry (made me chuckle anyway).

St Margaretsbury went running to the league because a fan's blog site likened them and their village to chavs and a swimming club (a joke at their pitch, even though Hertford's ground is always underwater when it rains).

The whole reason Hertford are getting done for this is that they linked the blog site on their twitter feed - they haven't actually written anything but it's enough for the thought police to charge them and keep St Margaretsbury happy.

Out of interest, did anything happen in regard to the Hertford fan being punched in the toilet at St Margaretsbury?

We were home to st mags on Saturday and there was nobody punched in the toilets this week, plenty of handbags on the pitch though with myles stephenson getting sent off for pushing over a st mags player shortly after being booked for getting involved in a fracas and pushing leigh rose over. Seems to be a regular thing against st mags, perhaps next season we will learn to keep a lid on the retaliation when they try their tactics again.

I think it's sad that they felt the need to complain to the league about a fan blog even if the club acknowledged it on their official Twitter feed. Allegedly it was a member of the St.Mags coaching staff that assaulted a young Hertford fan in the toilets resulting in the poor guy staggering back into the bar with blood pouring from his mouth but HTFC declined to report it to the league as nobody likes a grass and the board are far more professional and classy to address the issue publicly. They are above that. That and the fact that the away fans had lumps of ice and corner flags hurled at them in the 2nd half by local children plus the drunken youths abusing fans en route to the game in the town centre but of course, none of this is actually qualifies as chavvy behaviour does it & Hertford Town surely require sanction for (not) commenting on it in an unofficial and comedic manner? Whatever happened to inter-club banter? (Sighs heavily) PATHETIC!

Harpenden Reserves twitter account referred to Hoddesdon Town as "scum" on the eve of our reserve cup quarter final against them last month. I guess people being brave and hiding behind keyboards and fake names and profile pictures isn't just confined to this forum!

This is the SSML for gods sake  Every club in the league has a foul mouth supporter some more than others.

My apologies Mr Bee, I thought I had my vocal cords under control :P

St Mags were fiesty when we turned them over in January. Some mouthy women on the sideline and a few players giving it quite the big un and playing dirty. I've heard reports from other clubs they feel the same way about them

One being the operative word in the case of most other clubs, not so with st mags though. Every game iv seen them in has an air of menace so to speak.

In what sense?

Apparently that young fan was going to go to the police but was talked round by the HTFC committee to save St Mags' blushes, it just goes to show.
