dflman
Someone signing themselves as Phil Palmer has had a most unflattering and unhelpful letter about the club published in today's edition of the Gazette. Just when we need to get people though the gate as well. I shall email a reply to it but others may wish to follow suit. Does anyone know him yet alone agree ? Coffin Ender
What did it say?
dflman
Amongst other things........Hartsdown Park is a soulless, depressing place more derelict than a football stadium with no family area and no disabled. No view for kids from the coffin end if not at the front , directors should go etc etc etc
dflman
I will put it on in full later on
Coffin Ender
He's right about the ground.
michael
He may be right, but possibly is getting his expectations mixed up between the premiership and the ryman premiership. An easy mistake when you look at the dross served up by overpaid prima donna's in the premiership. Better value at MFC for £10 than 6 times as much in the premiership I guess he does not get to visit too many away games either or he may then have realised what a beautiful place HDP is by comparison with most. upthegate
Would be a bloody miracle if the crowd were so big that you had to push your way to the front ! ........... If only !
dflman
And of course currently the ball appears to always be up the other end any way
Blue Banshee
I quite like our ground thank you! (would love a big 'ol stadium but its adequate!) bit windy but not soul less. The family part is the whole ground that's the point!
Coffin Ender
I guess he does not get to visit too many away games either or he may then have realised what a beautiful place HDP is by comparison with most. Most grounds have more cover than we do. I'd say Hastings, Lewes, Thurrock, Carshalton, Thurrock, Enfield, Harrow, Hampton, Bognor, Kingstonian and Cray (groundshares), Bury, Hendon and Met Police. michael
the fundamental is that 'we do have a ground'.(i think ) many step 3 clubs would be happy with just that
michael
Thinking a bit more rationally, i look forward to reading the article, and to be fair-it may well provide some balance and reasonable points Because we 'love our club' are many of us-myself included-guilty of becoming a bit over defensive here. Is it similar to we can call our blood relatives all day long-but if an outsider says the same thing-we close ranks and circle the wagons Deep down- i guess it shows 'our ever enduring love of MFC'

dflman
It' not an article but a letter mean to disparage the club
