Guernsey Players

Recommended Posts

This one is for the Guernsey Posters in this lovely forum (sorry if this has been spoken about previously)...

Of the current GFC squad are any full time footballers? What's the wage budget like for GFC? Of which that aren't full-time do they have full/part time jobs?

Just curious here, not looking for a bite or an argument just wondered what there ££ was like...

Thanks for your usual sarcasm the smudge, your opinions and input are always so valid to the main point. As for mole valley, being just a spectator I wouldn't know the answer to any of them questions apart from no I'm guessing they all have jobs.

Chubby, is that a rumour or confirmed? 5k between a squad of 20ish regular players is only £250 a month which would answer my job question!!

Think Chubby means a week,do Mole Valley pay monthly then? Chubby normally alledges,or makes it up,as he goes along.

The Budget was around £250,000 last season (this was in a GFC Programme), and pretty much all of that went on travel expenses for the home and away matches. As other posters have said NOBODY from the club is paid, all volunteers. I appreciate its hard to believe that the players aren't paid, but that simply is the truth.

Yes 4-5-1 that's the only reason I was asking was because of their hectic end of season must need a lot of time off! Thanks HKP, Trebor etc .. It is hard to believe your right however I suppose travel expenses cost a hell of a lot!

4-5-1, yes they are all no doubt very grateful to their employers. But when you have two matches in 48 hours away from home it must be very difficult to get a squad together. But they are battling through the difficult run-in.

AllStar, they usually fly over mid-afternoon and return on the first flight out of Gatwick at 8.30, so its an afternoon off and also an hour or so lost in the morning. Incredible that that they do this so many times a season.

From the ones I have spoken to they either have to make their time up or take it off their annual leave, or I guess lose the pay.

Again I wouldn't know what MVSCR pay, yes I talk to people there but don't bother with that.

NLN that's a big 'fact' right there.. Anyway to backup that fact? Can't see it bein true to be quite honest

Yes Guernsey players don't get paid- theres my Fact

Just out of interest how does this work with the players employers? i.e do the players have to use their holiday entitlement when leaving work early for away games or do the players lose part of their work wages or have their employers 'bought' in to the Guernsey 'project' and just let the players have the time off?
