richards
Again a real lack of enthusiasm for posting. Not often that I get to post first. Great shame that the only mention of last nights match is Steve's apology for comments to the Staines goalie. Stick to your guns Steve, there is no room for that behaviour. It is noticeable that the language at matches, particularly behind the goal, has worsened considerably over the years. I am no prude and football is a game for all but some of the language gets foul and abusive as well as personal. I am sure this may put off young families from visiting our ground and I think we should all have a responsibility for cutting this out otherwise crowds will dwindle (with or without football success) To the match. Firstly what a great advert for football, two teams giving it their all, well worth the entrance fee. The ref had his moments but to be fair this was a game full of passion and generally he kept it well under control. Have seen Swaineys tweets, so clearly the team are devastated. After a shocking start I thought we paid pretty well and particular praise to the youngster Alfie May who had a very good game. Caught by the late goal syndrome again, remains to be seen how important that lost point is, because Maidenhead got stuffed so it could yet come down to the last game. Maidenhead on Saturday home to Bromley will, I think, determine our future. I have to say I was very puzzled by the substitution policy last night. For the last 20 minutes or so Jay May looked totally exhausted and in my view a fresh pair of legs was more important than his aerial skills ( particularly as he didn't have the energy to get near the ball) Hope springs eternal and just maybe we can win at Weston and Farnborough (who have no keeper), the results can't be any worse than the 3 home games !! Brightside Bloke
To be honest i genuinely did not think we were going to get back into the game but fair play to the lad's they bounced back and levelled it. Only to slip up late once again. Sorry to see Jay May struggling again but he battled on which is always good to see. I agree Alfie May had a great game (wish all these young lad's didn't have the same hair style lol) Hope he stays with us for a while as he has great pace and not afraid to have a tackle against much bigger opponents. It was a crushing blow to both players & supporters to once again get caught out by a late goal. We certainly are not getting the rub of the green in 2013 (So far) Keep the faith guy's & let's continue to get behind the BLUES
blue pilgrim
Football's a cruel game. Staines could have been out of sight by halftime. Once we equalised, they were on the ropes and desperately time- wasting. I felt the win was coming but their clearance off the line was pivotal. It's been a horrible season weather and football wise. Let's not forget the marvellous achievement last season and remember, we haven't had much luck this season. Time to lick our wounds and start looking forward to next August, which-ever league we are in. COYB
Barry Proudfoot
all this stuff about not getting the rub of the green and barracking referees is nonsense, we just haven't been good enough. I know it doesn't mean much now but I think our (and I'm talking fans) way we are perceived by other clubs won't be good after last night. so how about this...no more barracking referees by the tunnel at ht and ft (it's getting embarrassing) just get behind the team. whoever it was that overstepped the mark last night with so called banter has let us all down I'm afraid See you all at Weston
