The site is currently inaccessibly as a result of security flaws in popular Content Management Systems being exploited and causing servers to become swamped with to much traffic to cope (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-22152296).

The host has put out a statement sayng....

'We have immediately taken countermeasures and have minimized the impact on our customers. However, it is possible that there might be isolated cases of restrictions using the following services:

- Access to customer websites

- FTP access to webspace

- Administration of content management systems such as Wordpress and Joomla'

...which is what is affecting us now.

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do other than be patient!

Unfortunately not Ian. I believe Ramsgate's problem stemmed from the fact they use Wordpress to produce the site and had to rectify that being hacked.

Our site does not use any third party scripting aside from the news and that, as well as all of the hand-coded stuff, is as secure from hacking as could possibly be. Our problem is all of the Wordpress sites hosted on the same server are getting hammered and that is causing a bottleneck in through traffic. There is absolutely nothing that can be done from our end, the server is just overloaded.

in case something similar or for whatever reason-this forum crashed and sad armchair managers like me could not get their daily fix of utter drivel-i seem to recall there was at one time a reserve forum we could piggyback onto.

Is that still afloat and does anyone recall its 'address'

(not that anything will happen to this splendid site of course )
