Margate entertain a very good well coached Maidstone side at Hartsdown park on Saturday. Margate drew 2-2 in the corresponding game in Maidstone.

Come along and support the lads.

Well, what can i say. Hear goes.

With a few exceptions I would replace the Majority of the team for lack of effort/ Fitness / discipline. Along with Kev Barham I agree young Isaac played well today. He made the first and some excellent wing play on the right and the resulting cross to Elliot Payne led to the 2nd., given 84 minutes today. Connor Armstrong also played his heart out. Taylor Lawrence (17 and just up from the u18's and Raw)Did more than enough to keep his place.Taylor reminds me so much of "TROTTY", also lacking the pace but, that can be worked on if the lad is willing and disciplined enough to do it.

Why "O" Why do these young wingers Isaac excepted today, take the ball to the man, then, the next, try to get past the next, into the box and fall over "When available for all 3 there was a simple pass to a home player in acres of space. How many times have we seen it in the 1st team. 12 or so years of playing competitive youth football/ Sunday league and, the lessons have not been learned.

What is the answer, Is it the modern instant fame ( what do you want to do when you grow up son, "I WANT TO BE FAMOUSE")culture.Listen boy's, this is real life "NOT" Eastenders or Hollyoaks. Is it the I know what I want and Bug*er you syndrome, I don't know. What I do know this constant "the grass is always greener on the other side" (Island) doesn't help. In a ideal world, without prejudice and damaging rivalry we might be able to bring kids through to benefit both sides instead of what i see as destroying so many kids confidence and talent.

I for one am looking forward to next season with the Academy, under 18's and U21's coming together and the start of real natural progression.

As for the 3-2 Score line Maidstone didn't win the game "WE THREW IT AWAY".
