Sounds like Sandhurst had some help at the start by the Referee delaying the kick off for twenty minutes when either they didn't have enough players to start or if you believe Duncs were waiting for their centre half to arrive ! Why didn't the game start if they had 10 players ? Any ideas Duncs ?

Epsom & Ewell v Bedfont was abandoned due to a floodlight failure a couple of seasons ago with 87 minutes gone. Epsom were 2-1 up. The match was replayed.

At about the same time Colliers Wood v Chertsey was abandoned after 81 minutes with Chertsey 3-0 up. The league ordered the game to be replayed but both clubs said they were happy for the result to stand so it did.

I see where you're coming from Duncs but you might be waiting for someone to agree with you mate!

VP has given precedents for both outcomes, but I think the simple answer is there is no written rule about what should happen. I was under the impression that if a game was 80 mins + old then the result stood, but I guess it's not the case.

was the delay in k/o in the hope of allowing the conditions to improve?

 

Or because players were unsure if they should travel and so were late on parade?

 

seems to me ref gave it every opportunity to play the match and had to abandon.

 

replay thursday. Ill discuss thursdays match over a fruit juice and asahi then duncs, if youd like. All friendly like, whatever the result.

But the rules don‘t say what you say they do. It says if the match is less than 90 minutes then the league will decide. If one team is to blame the points will generally go to the other team. Otherwise it will generally be replayed. Unless you are blaming Dorking (which you have said you‘re not), the league have followed the rules to the lettee.

what is annoying about this post is duncs asked a simple question and yet again its turning personal!some FACTS we were led to believe the game would be off on friday if anymore rain,and were told a AM inspection,we started phoning all morning numerous numbers from handbook could not get hold of any dfc officials,salv got hold of the sec at 12.3o and was passed to linesman for game who said pitch just about playable but any more rain it would be off but with rain due he could not call it off.we then had to notify players and some missed there trains on arrival at ground salv asked to speak to ref and was told he is running late and would not arrive uhtil 2,30,when he arrived he agreed to a 15 not 20 minute delay in ko after consulting with assessor,we had enough players our c/h did miss ko but we changed team sheet we have not asked for the points but we could appeal as per rules but league have very quickley re arranged game for thursday!!! at 1-1 both sets of benches asked ref to call game off and he would not talk to either he kept saying in my opinion its ok to continue!!! we then scored and FOUR minutes later he abandoned the game!!!!!thats why were angry

I know it's a long way to come, but I think it would be fairer to just play the remaining minutes (plus whatever additional time the ref had noted) with the score at 1-2.

I'm pretty sure it's if 75 mins has been played result stands, a bit harsh if the ref blow up on 73 mins.

From the FIFA amendid rules (this is reguarding tournament play,It may differ for league play)

 

13. Inclement Weather – In the event of inclement weather, the Tournament Committee is responsible

for determining if games will be played. Once a game is started the decision to continue play rests

with the referee. Games shall be considered complete if one half of the game has been played - the

score at the time of stoppage of play will be the final score. If one half has not elapsed and the

game is stopped the game may be rescheduled if it affects the outcome of the tournament and if

weather permits.

All this proves is that if it's pretty obvious that a game won't be able to finish then don't start it in the first place, regardless of time of the season/fixture backlogs. If this scenario had arisen 2 or 3 months ago we all know the game would not have started. Could be a very interesting 2 or 3 weeks if we have another spell of wet weather!

clubs and officials have been told by league must try and get games on so pressure on especially on officials,3 of us have been workijng on ground till 8 pm tonight and then get txt saying dorking away thursday i feel for the players all these games were not full time its who can play plays

That's harsh as basically the game is null and void!
