Abandoned match

Bearing in mind the significance of the result, it will be a travesty if the result is allowed to stand, with 17 minutes plus added remaining. I didn't see the state of the pitch but I suspect if it wasn't this late in the season with a fixture backlog, then the game would not have started. Could say the same about Frimley yesterday, several times the ball completely stopped in the boggy patch in front of the stand.

Thats from Dorkings point of view it can also be said from Sandhursts point of view it would be a Travesty if its not allowed to stand, come on TRS you should know better than that.

Come on duncs, you can't call a result on 73 minutes when it could ultimately decide which of the 2 clubs stay up. I'd say the same if it had been 2-1 to Dorking. If need be just play the final 17 minutes with the score at 1-2, wouldn't have a problem with that.

I'm sorry fellas we seem to be going in a different tangent,I was asking what the league rules are concerning abandoned matches and at what stage a result will stand, there has to be something in place or it could throw up all sorts of situations.

8.3.1 All matches shall be of ninety minutes duration. The half time interval in all matches shall not exceed fifteen minutes. Any match which is not of ninety minutes duration may be ordered to stand as a completed match or replayed for the full period of ninety minutes or be awarded to the Club not at fault, as the Board may decide, on such terms as the Board shall decide

I think this is the rule Duncs.

so from that the result can stand and its up to the league to decide, well I think Sandhurst must have a fair chance of getting the points seeing as it was at Dorking and the game had an element of doubt from the start, surely the Ref has to be pivotall in this dicision, can't see where Sandhurst can be at fault apart from winning with only 17 minutes to go.

I‘d be amazed if its not replayed. Earlier this year Dulwich were 2-0 away to Leatherhead when the wall collapsed with 12 mins left. It was replayed despite the council then ruling the wall had been unsafe prior to collapse. I realise itts a different league but it seems much more difficult to apportion blame here other than possibly the ref for ignoring the evidence in front of him earlier in the day!

Exactly mate and the rule says Sandhurst were not at fault it was in fact the Ref and you could also say Dorking because they were exspressing on here that the game would not last 90 minutes,as i already said Sandhurst did nothing wrong how can it be replayed ?

I vented my spleen last night, and yes - the alcohol hadn't worn off at the time. Possibly a 'Smudger' moment

I think we'll stay quiet on this one until The League make a decision, and DFC consider their position after that.

I'm sure ALL the truth will come out eventually.

Duncs don't normally reply to your opinions, but your talking c*** for even thinking of blaming Dorking. They did everything to get the game on but their people know the pitch better than anyone & it was clearly unplayable which they said. It was the referee who overruled them & made them play, he has to take the blame. I haven't seen Dorking's pitch today but at a good guess ruined. That refs decisions could now cost Dorking more games to be called off as it will be unable to repair the damage

& anyway you saw what ours was like Wednesday night..unplayable

Talking about decisions I can't believe yesterday as we was told we couldn't call the game off at 10.30am when it failed a pitch inspection. We had to wait for the match official to turn up at 1.30pm, which meant Bedfont S travelling. Then when he gets to the ground doesn't even go on the pitch as from the sideline you could see it was unplayable & calls the game off. What a waste of time & effort by several members at ash utd to try & do the unthinkable & feel sorry for those bedfont players who had a wasted journey. Also we had to pay the officials knowing it wouldn't be on.

Sorry moan over

Gaz you can moan all you like, all I am saying is the rules say unless the team causes the game to be called off then the result stands,I didn't make the rule the league did so you may want to vent your anger towards them.
