v Godalming

Recommended Posts

You cannot ask any more of the players today in horrible conditions. You Adolfo can't argue against the red cards which were both fair in my opinion.

Godalming were the best passing team we've seen this season, and we did well to make them work for the win even with 9 men.

Yes that's it, but the players today tried so hard so if the moaners could stay away for a little bit that would be nice.

Personally think the second red was harsh. For a team already down to 10 men the ref has to understand that players are going to slide in and battle for the ball. Compare it to a few of the tackles that godalming put in that didn't get anything and I think it could be considered harsh. I always think a ref should only send a player off if he has no choice. In my opinion he didn't have to send o'toole off, unlike woozley where he had no option, and so should have given him a final warning. Otherwise you're basically saying you can't tackle on a wet pitch.

Also have to say I didn't think much of godalming. It's very easy to pass well around 8 tired players. Honestly think if the players have the motivation on Tuesday that we can beat them. Depends if we go there feeling like we sto have something to play for.

Tremendous effort today, think that is the best I've seen us play in weeks. More balanced with Swfty back in the team. Thought Brown, Martin and Smith battled superbly in what was essentially a lost cause.

We cannot catch a break though.

Thing is Radders, from where I was standing, the Woozley red card was a shocking decision, it was shoulder to shoulder!

I didn't think the referee had any other option with O'Toole, then again, if the referee had made the correct decision with the Woozley incident, O'Toole would never had to make that tackle!

You make your own luck, at the moment, we're not getting any!

I HATE THIS BLOODY LEAGUE!!!

From the covered end it looked like Woozy gave him a blantant push and being last man the ref had only one choice.

However the O'Toole one did not look that bad, but when he picked up his first yellow it looked like he was giving the ref lip so the ref may have been swayed when he then did the sliding tackle.
