tommoneary
'Where The Passion Is' is a documentary directed by film maker Thomas Neary. He wants to show that there is the same passion per fan for a non league club as there is in any other league in this country. To be part of the documentary all you have to do is answer the questions on this forum. A. Why do you think Non-League football matters? B. What is the best thing about Non-League Football? By answering these questions on the forum you give the film maker permission to use the responses as quotations in the film itself, anyone who's contribution makes it into the film will be given a free copy of the documentary and their name (or username) depending on which you prefer in the credits. http://thomasneary.wix.com/wherethepassionis
The Mayor Of Simpleton
Okay, my thoughts: a) Non League football matters, because it is part of the heart and soul of communities up and down the country. From the metropolis of London to isolated hamlets in the Lake District and Northumberland, it gives aspiring Messi's and Ronaldo's the chance to play competitively against players with the same ambitions. The Clubhouse is also a focal point for the community - where people can meet up, have a drink or two, discuss the game and chat about the latest gossip in the club or community at large. Without these clubs, their communities would be significantly worse off. Non League is not glamorous or sexy, like the Premier League and its associated teams, and this too is part of the charm. It does not seek to rip off its loyal fans - instead fans can watch their team and have enough for a few drinks and a half-time pie for far less than it would cost you to watch a game at The Emirates, Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge etc. Also, you are more a part of a smaller club than you are when you are just 1 out of 75,000 or so fans at Old Trafford. Wayne Rooney and co wouldn't bother chatting with fans post-match, whereas the players at a non league club are usually found in the bar after a game. There is far more of a 'real feeling' about non league, whereas the Premiership at times can resemble Katie Price's breasts - plastic and artificial. Adam King (aka The Mayor of Simpleton), 27, Gloucester - supports Gloucester City, Guernsey and most sides apart from Forest Green Rovers.
