Guernsey's PPG is currently 2.414, the second highest of all second placed teams in all Step 5 leagues (behind Spennymoor), and the highest in the second placed teams available for promotion out of teams that can promote two teams. If Guernsey win tomorrow night, they will have a higher PPG than Egham who are currently top of the table. If Guernsey win every remaining game, they'll get 109 points which works out at 2.595 per game. For completeness sake, Epsom & Ewell's PPG is 1.973 at present which is the lowest out of leagues who can promote a second team.

To add to that, it looks as though three second placed teams will be promoted as a minimum, as Newport IOW are almost mathematically eliminated in the Wessex League, so they will be promoting no teams this season.

The other 13 champions (or runner up in the case of the United Counties League) will be fine, leaving three more spots, currently occupied by Aylesbury United 2.28, VCD 2.23 and Wisbech Town 2.15. However, this is based on the second placed clubs as I write, as obviously it looks as though Guernsey will leapfrog Epsom, while Oxhey Jets will leapfrog Aylesbury.

Assuming the other teams all keep up their rates, then to finish the best of the second placed sides you would need to pass Oxhey's 2.33 and would require 98 points. More likely you would need to pass VCD's rate and to get this you would need 94 points.

In other words, 24 points from your remaining 13 games would probably be enough. It could get easier though depending on whether other teams are relegated or demoted by choice, leaving more promotion spots (hopefully).

But even if there were many more spots available to the extent that the FA needed to promote any third placed sides, three leagues have a better record than Epsom, so our promotion chances are gone, even if we were to somehow finish above Guernsey, as our PPG could only reach 2.095 and we'd need to win all five for that. South Park are in a similar situation to us, with slightly better PPG but many more games to play to sustain that rate.

In short, two will go up from this league as long as they are Egham and Guernsey. No others can do it now, sad to say :(

Thats assumimg that they all have the ground grading

who do you mean? Egham and Guernsey do have the grading or did you mean other leagues? I don't think it will be an issue finding 16 teams at Step 5 with the right grading and finishing in the top 3.
