Weekend Matches 12/13/14 April

Recommended Posts

JR knows his pitch better than any - if only they'd listen !

Many Thanks GF !

There are jokes, and then there are jokes,

I wont't even bother to comment on the why's and wherefores' of todays debacle.

I have it on very good authority that our own Hurdy will post on here later. I have absolutely no idea on how this League will deal with todays comedy.

The referee obviousntely didn't know what to do do either. It became blatantly obvious by his lack of appearance in the bar after the game.

I so really feel so sorry for the League appointed assessor, who had to watch this travesty,

HURDY ? ....... Over to you !!

But these will be EASILY rescheduled by the end of the day HKP.

What a contrast to when you visited Egham earlier this year and the referee called the game off.......I recall the uproar from you, Maisie and the rest of the blinkered GFC faithful.

You should go out there Chubby and maybe your ridiculous Anti GFC stance will change. Alternatively you could also get off your backside and become part of the league and the decision process to stop the league ever doing anything different. I reckon you are in the very small miniority now but as is with this country it is the noisy miniority that tend to get heard rather than the silent majority.

I think Chubby has a valid point maybe he should be listened to by the CCL because unfortunately GFC have become a headahe for them, nobody could of forseen all of this bad weather but in the future all of us need to take into account what has happened this season.

Worcester Park 0-1 Epsom Athletic

Saw one of the great goalkeeping performances of recent years as The Latics keeper (Jack is his first name) kept Park out with some stupendous efforts.

Hard on Park who played pretty well at times and dominated most of the game.

Pitch was fine considering. Good crowd too though most keeping dry and watching from the bar.

Some of this is the League's own doing, games should have been rearranged months ago when the backlog started rather then leave everything to the last minute. Or they could have taken the offer of playing all the remaining away games midweek to free up weekends. Or probably enforced the agreement to have a small number of games midweek in Guernsey as the fixture pileup is crazy and with another match to fit in somehow has now become worse. Many matches have been lost due to the pitch (was unforeseen), but I think more were lost due to the Vase and one lost as a team did not want to travel Boxing Day.

My comment on the Egham match was the lateness of the decision, with Egham apparently just as surprised the match was off then. We had significent rain yesterday afternoon and it was no surprise to anyone including the visiting team that it was called off.

You can't blame the league as they were only doing what they always do,most rearranged games are easily rescheduled because the rest of the clubs in this league don't need a day off work and an aeroplane trip, not blaming GFC either because you were voted into this league but you cannot be treated differently i'm afraid.

One could argue that in that case midweek games should have taken place in Guernsey then, as per the agreement that if needs be then they would.
