To be fair, if one of mine had perished in a similar senario I would have welcomed alcohol/drug testing so I could possibley have a greater understanding of what their final hours was like. I would have thought testing was fairly standard procedure in that kind of incident.

It might be now, but it was my understanding that it wasn't at that point in time. I don't think that small children would be drinking alcohol in all honesty.

The impression I got from the documentary I saw on it is that the police were doing everything possible to cover the situation up - might be down to the programme maker's exurberance though.

That is exactly what happened from what I have read and watched. Even David Cameron had to make a full apology for what occured.

Even to this day, certain senior Police Officers think the fans were to blame and Liverpool fans are taunted by one particular club every time that club plays (i.e. not only when the 2 clubs play each other).
