Errrmmmm do you know our budget then Johnno, because I am afraid if you did you would know we are nowhere near the likes of who you said.... Yep ours is better than the likes of yours and Fleets etc, but I can tell you now for FACT that not one player in our side earns 3 figures.....

We have built a side on team spirit, and hard workers....

And just shows you how little the money actually means to our players, Blounty who we signed from you less than 6 weeks ago, tore his anterior cruciate, and medial cruciate at Thatcham on Monday and the lads not only clubbed together to pay for an MRI scan within 5 days, but have now agreed to give up their last weeks wages to help pay for a private operation... And are willing to help in a fundraiser....

Would rather not be linked with other teams who are paying money, just because we are challenging at the top...

I know this is not CCL related but frustrates me when people assume you are paying out BIg money just because you are doing well...

as soon as I included Godalming in that sentence I knew you'd be on here like a flash Bakes.

I do know what your budget is mate cos you have told me but my general point was that ours is not the same in anyway like the ones mentioned. You dont have to come on here to defend your team as I for one know that your budget is not he highest at all and your team is built on all those attributes you mention. With Chertsey in no current position to generate a decent budget, we are also trying to create the sort of team you guys have at Godalming.

Sad to hear Blount has suffered his nightmare injury. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

Ha ha cheers Mark, yep heard it is pretty wet, guess will depend on if we get any rain between now and then, was like a swimming pool in the game against Leighton last Wednesday.

Yep Fleet did us a huge favour, but we have to now go and beat Slough again, which will be a tough ask, but if we did win that then we have a real chance of winning it I think.

I've watched Godalming a few times this year and they're a good solid side with the obvious bonus of having several match winners. I totally agree with Duncs - shoot me down if you want - it is all about the players you get in and Neil Baker and Jon Underwood have got in plenty of good ones who have performed at that level for a while. The times I've seen them they handle themselves excellently as well, unlike that mob from Guildford who are a disgrace. Bit like when that clown Martini was involved at G's!

good luck for the rest of the season Neil. Out of interest, does anything else need doing to the ground to go up?

JJ - if you're looking to follow the lines set by another side with similar resources then the present day Godalming is a good example to follow.

I think most of the team at godalming Is ex Ashford if I'm right, the team when they were Ryman prem. Warren Harris, Gavin Smith, Ryan Lake, Scott Harris, Brett Cooper, Guy Hollis, Brett Foulser there a decent team.

Yep a few ex Ashford boys in the team, however Gav Smith only plays when we are short (think he has only played 3 times this season) and we released Brett Cooper about 6 weeks ago.

In terms of work on the ground, then we will go up this year if promoted, but would need some more seats and toilet facilities improved by the end of next season, but they started a ground development fund about 2 years ago, and have a lot of the money needed to do this, so should be no issue.

Bigger changing room for the match officials?

Ha ha, I don't think that is a requirement, however I stand to be corrected, I think there are a few bits that need to be completed within a year, but I am not 100% sure what... But the main work will be a new stand going in on the far side, similar I guess to what Frimley Green have just put in.

Would class it as a nice to have rather than a requirement.

Good luck for the rest of the season and hope that your plans for the future are successful
