All we want is a football ground in Slough

No idea how much it had to do with me posting the link on the Hearts forum but there's been a few signatures since then.

Big waste of time though now that the "who cares about a ground for a team with 10 fans" lot have come along.

Oh, I meant on the Hearts forum not on here or anywhere else. A couple of people said they'd sign the petition but it turned into an argument with one person saying that Slough had only 10 fans and others backing the school ahead of a ground. The general idea was that a school was more important or that Slough Town didn't really matter much. I thought the thread wouldn't turn out great which is why I was reluctant to post it.

Pity but at least it got some signatures.

We've got to keep pushing this to old supporters, friends and family. It's not just about the ground I'm sure your neighbours need to know aswell about the houses and St Joes with it'll be so much more congestion in that area. Maybe the residents opposite the site would be for it.

Maybe a leaflet drop, with ALL the FACTS not just SP point of school v ground.

As a Guildford fan I know how you feel, I have just signed your petition. Good luck with the ground.

You hear the media whine on every time an English team gets beaten in a tournament and they wonder why, its not hard to work out is it, in Spain every town however small has a football ground with floodlights and astroturf, they are proud of their ground and here, if you are not in the Premier league you are thought of as wasters. How many young players come through the Premier League youth teams to the first team? Not many, they need us, and all of us.

From what I've read in the local papers, its due to open at the site in September but only for a single academic year, in which case the problem would still remain, as does the issue with the Department for Education having to release the land to Slough Council for different use, with more free schools on the way.
