UK Sub
IS IT TRUE THAT GUERNSEY WERE PRESENT AT THE RYMAN LEAGUE LAST GENERAL MEETING TO DISCUSS THEIR ACCEPTANCE? HOW MANY OTHER CLUBS HAVE BEEN INVITED TO LEAGUE GENERAL MEETINGS 3 MONTHS BEFORE THE END OF A SEASON WITH A TEAM STILL TO PLAY A HALF OF SEASONS GAMES???????? I heard the Ryman league had a meeting about a month ago in Datford and discussed the possibility of Guernsey being promoted but dunno if anyone from Guernsey was there? Makes sense Ryman would discuss it early so they can prepare just case.
tempestward
There was talk about this matter after a recent match at Egham. The number of passes (up to 30) and the location of Guernsey's home games (i.e. not on the island) were mentioned. It was also mentioned that one participant in this meeting did say "Hang on, they're not even in a promotion place yet", but perhaps accepting of course that that could change imminently. HKP
So what if some initial discussions MAY have taken place, just shows a bit of foresight from all concerned IF Guernsey gain promotion. No different to the CCL talking to GFC prior to them being elected into this League.

I think much will depend on whether their pitch finally gets sorted Karen. Scheduling is one thing, getting them played though will need a pitch that drains and isn't spoilt too much by egg-chasers playing a few days beforehand. Ironically the pitch now looks too dry and isn't helping their game - they could do with a bit of rain to dampen it down
@BedfontFeltham
Don't forget about the logistics. Bad weather also means no transport.
Panthera
Rain has arrived, and will indeed help. Next season the pitch will be better as we have a plan for maintaining the drainage, so it should be much better than this season regardless of the weather. I think fixtures will be dictated by weather, but hope that if midweek matches are needed, they wont all be scheduled for GFC to be the travelling team. Jeff Hamnett TSF
I have it on good authority that Guernsey Fc will groundshare at Crawley FC to ensure ground grading up the leagues Islanders will have just the metrobus to catch on arrival at Gatwick, Redhilll FC is available for accommodation and Horley FC will be where the coaches are boarded for away games, South Park will become a feeder club for midweek games. Play their home games away from home, they would seriously screw up their business plan, especially after spending all that money to bring Footes Lane up to the required standard.
