Harrow Borough vs Enfield Town

Look at Harrow's recent home form.

Look at our recent form.

Result not really a surprise, although very disappointing.

Next gave - Canvey won't be easy !

I thought 41 points would be enough, but as you say T Boy, we are looking over our shoulder at teams winning games.

Hopefully, against teams also below us !!

Pantsgate!!

One criticism from the game is that what good does it do shouting and swearing at the referee no matter how much you disagree and are frustrated with his/her decisions. If your on the bench encourage and coach. If your on the field concerntrate on your own game and play. Just my opinion.

Let's not beat about the bush regarding yesterday's 'performance'. Harrow were below us in the table and you could see why. However, they out fought us, out ran us, battled harder than we did, played with more passion and looked like they wanted to get the three points more than us. We now have the worst defensive record in the league and you can see why. Pace did us again.

How many more times has a member of the management team got to be sent off before something is done about it? He was not sent off because of his passion for the game. It seems as though he feels there is always a need to shout and swear at officials whenever he sees fit. What kind of message does that send out to players, officials, supporters and the opposition. He is giving 'our' club a bad name. A poor show indeed.

I believe we will stay up and we have to thank McGleish for that, but things must change for the better for next season. We are being found out.

I agree with regard to passion, fight and pace however I think we beat them on ability and football skill. And yesterday was our fourth game in 8 days that is bound to take it out of the players. Whilst we have the worst defensive record (just) we have the 7th best goal scoring record and I don't think we will finish with the worst defensive record.

I also don't think we are safe yet. Carshalton are on a roll and Hastings have too many opportunities to gain points on us with 5 games in hand. I think we desperately need 3 points more from somewhere. I think a team will get relegated this year with over 40 points. We beat Canvey at their place with a substitute goalkeeper so we could get those three points on Saturday. We stuffed Hendon at home drew with Thurrock and have to play Carshalton (in my view the worst performance I have seen this season). So I think we should pick up the points to make us safe. If we go down now it will be for a lack of passion etc.

As for the management the ref's performance yesterday left me spitting feathers, he was poor and whilst fussy about some things (pants) he let a lot of things go. Remember Surridge's equipment was checked before he went on to the field of play so the lino must have been playing to different rules to the ref. Why did O'brien get booked yet there number 8 was not when he put his hands up to Lee Allen? Why was not one of their players booked for not retreating at free kicks he warned them often enough! So he sends one of our managers of because of a few words if language is the problem you should have been where the Harrow subs were warming up right next to the linesman but no word said to them!

Was stood behind the goal Tom and the picture appears to be an illusion as Liam definitely headed it in at the near post. As for the defence, where to start? Out done AGAIN for pace, disorganised, not natural full backs (or the wrong side in Lockies case). Sorry to say but Kirby just isn't upto it at present at this level (not to say he couldnt be) and spends too long moaning at referees and players. Kendall is not a full back but SN appears unkeen to play him at centre half this season where he played last season. With only Jey Siva to come in, we don't have a great deal of options to shore up the defence. However IMO it isn't just the defenders. We have seen all season that our real weakness has been in midfield where we firstly haven't had a goalscoring midfielder and B) haven't protected the back 4 - how often do we concede on the break getting caught out. I think a priority next season is to get a goalscoring midfielder in and a replacement for Michael Ewang something I don't believe we've done all season.

Look Lee Allen has adapted to the role of playing in front of the back four and he was performing reasonably well yesterday, though some blame may be given for the first goal, but he went off injured. Nobody to come in to defence except Jey Siva? You forgetting Bardle and Gio. Henry also missing yesterday. You hit the nail on the head when you said that we "get caught on the break". White is better at centre half than Kendall and if Kendall was in the middle we would still be beaten for pace. BTW we got beaten for pace when we were chasing the game and pushing forward. The first goal wasn't about pace it was about a long throw whilst one of our team was off the park changing his pants!

All fair points Steph. I don't personally see McKay as good enough for this level as H&R showed. Bardle was one I had forgotten about. I didn't understand why Henry was on the bench yesterday as I thought he'd been playing well in recent weeks. It seems to me too many of our defenders don't actually prude themselves in defending. An old fashioned no nonsense nasty centre half would be a useful addition right now

The Harrow camera person's angle shows that their fourth goal was ON SIDE. Watch from 2m 30secs and you'll see he's played on by Kirbs stepping up in line when the ball is played through so it was a good decision by the Assistant Referee not to put his flag up.

What ?

I was not there yesterday so may be making an assumption regarding "pants"

I hope it was not coloured undergarment like cyclying shorts being the wrong colour !!

This is standard FA stuff and surely everyone in the club knows that undergarment must be the same colour as the shorts.

This is standard Sunday Pub League stuff.

Happened at Hampton.

Players, Management, Kit man...get it sorted for christ's sake.

Stupid.

Old towner the problem is around what one person deems as pants and what another deems as undershorts etc ... The managements argument along with the players is that the assistant referee checked both Hunts clothing and Sturgesses clothing and deemed them Ok as they were more boxer short style Lycra . Only for the referee to deem them unsuitable during the game , if the person who checks them says they are fine then that should be that. harrow scored whilst Hunt was ordered off . Jason got removed from the dugout ( i was nearby and heard all that was said and the argument ) for pointing this out to the ref , yes he was loud but the ref wasnt listening , he did not swear something the ref has admitted aparently , he was removed for shouting too loudly at the ref. The way it is going all our players are going to need to have , a white pair , a blue pair and a red pair for each game to match the shorts , they will probably get told they are the wrong shade next. This is the first time it has happened all season , ( sorry second Conor Bolton on debut at Hampton )basically because one ref felt he was the only person that mattered. Imagine how his assistant must have felt having said the undergarment was all ok.
