I was told today and also seen it confirmed on their website that Yateley Green who are currently top of the Surrey Elite league are merging with a number of clubs in and around Yateley. Does anyone know anything about this merger is it in a view to get more investment poole resources so to speak to make the step up to CCL?

I used to play for them many years ago when they were in the Wessex league and still keep in touch with them , I think a lot is to do with the fact no club in yateley can recieve a grant on there own in which no one would be able to afford the upgrade costs, another possibility might be down to the fact that there is a lot of footy talent in yateley and with no real senior team they look to progress to teams like Camberley, frimley, Farnham, eversley ash fleet etc so with everyone in yateley joining together they will have women's teams kids teams and senior teams to carry on into a town of yateley should only have one team anyway , I hope it works out for them they can't join the ccl this year as they haven't applied but I bet we will see them in the following season
