Thursday 4th April

Recommended Posts

As a neutral fan went and watched wood v egham last night and was sad to see how many games Egham have had to play in the last 8 days, playing 5 games in this time must be hurting those players now.

IS THIS FAIR FROM THE COMBINED COUNTIES LEAGUE TO BE DOING THIS TO A PROMOTION HUNTING TEAM

Saw them play Guernsey at egham and thought they were one of the best teams i have seen play this year with some great football and great attiutude from all on the pitch and on bench.

From a neutral point all you can see is the combined counties league changing other clubs fixtures to help Guernsey not worrying about if other clubs involved will be able to send there strongest squads.

Do fill sorry for Guernsey to but do think they could have helped themselves by playing more fixtures in between there fa vase games

So it's Guernsey's fault for not arranging more games for themselves but it's the League's fault for Egham having a backlog?

teams should be playing more games early part of the season........ to many tuesday nights without games!

the weather never goes away in winter time lets be clever and play more games then????????????????

back log then goes away, and yes some of it is Guernsey thought they are the only club who can call games of on a friday night or afternoon, how many teams on the mainland could call games then but still have played on the saturday

If you think that Guernsey are having an easy time, to the detriment of others, you are having a giraffe! Have you seen the current fixture list for GFC for April!

Guernsey's game backlog is due to cup games in the CCL Premier and FA vase, along with some unprecedented bad weather making the pitch unplayable. GFC have drafted in new signings to cope with this and are getting on with it. I do get a little miffed at the constant comments intimating that GFC are treated better than anyone else in the CCL. I'll get off my soap box now.

:soapbox:

Bonus point for colliers wood in their survival bid, great result from Guernsey's point of view. Seeing Egham drop four points against two teams fighting relegation could give us a huge boost.

We have one of our toughest games of the season away to South Park tomorrow to get through first though, otherwise Egham's results won't really have meant anything if we lose.

The batttle to survive is becoming extremely interesting now - teams down there are picking up surprising wins and draws and it's tough to predict who is going to go down.

It's no strange thing that sides at the bottom upset sides at the top at all levels look at Southampton Chelsea and many others

Last night was our 6th game in 13 days btw! (5 away from home)! For the record we are fighting against relegation.

I felt Epsom were unlucky on Thursday at Hanworth Villa but we have had some late winners ourselves this year and these things do tend to even themselves out over time.

Deservedly 2-1 up and just unable to get a third we got caught with two goals after 90 and 92 which was harsh on our lads, but we have made loads of chances recently against Farnham, Molesey and Hanworth and only have four goals from those three games to show for it.

If we want a top four finish we have to get back into the groove starting next Saturday at Wembley.
