P.W.
I see that the dates for KSC match(es) have been announced - are they having a laugh? Tuesday 23rd April (v Ebbsfleet) and the winners face Tonbridge Angels on Thursday 25th April (with Final regular season game v Harrow on Saturday 27th April !!). I presume that (if we're in the play-off's & we should be) we'll be fielding a team of Reserves and Squad players on the Tuesday. As has been stated on this Forum before, KSC should be a pre-season tournament.
upthegate
Should do away with it completely. FA cup and trophy are the only cups worth bothering with. If we do field a reserve team then that says it all.

Coffin Ender
Is Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday that bad? Wealdstone did that last week in the league and were unbeaten. Concord have just played six games in 14 days, losing once. I blame Premier League managers for spreading the idea that players will drop dead if they play every couple of days. upthegate
The point is, its the club devaluing the cup by putting out a reserve team, not the supporters.
Blackz
CE, if it was Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday in the League, that'd be a lot easier to understand, but when we're battling for a playoff place, the KSC just seems to be an unwelcome distraction. Put the kids / reserves out & concentrate on promotion, would be my stance.
michael
well i think its great- if we are in the play-offs,understand a few may be rested-or indeed more likely-we will need to win the last game to secure play-off place;but if not in the play-offs-why not try and win the thing to give impetus for next season. I think you will find most players want to win things. That aside-if most of the squad are fit-we now have a sqaud when fully fit of about 18/19 good players-so why can't we get in the play-offs and win the cup as well ? success breeds success. If we were to win this cup-it may just show that we are capaBLE OF WINNING CUP GAMES AND may just do better in next seasons FA Cup. If we were to get to the play-offs and lost out-a nice win over Charlton reserves in front of 500 people would surely help soften the blow'and set us up for next season. Nice for CH and SO to win something as well-they derserve the accolades no matter whay happens over the next 7 league matches ort of agree with CE's point above-but do recognise it is a lot harder for part time playewrs who have to re-schedule their football around their work ;which for most-remains their primary source of income. I have no sympathy with full time players though-and in their situations totally agree with CE

Not worried so much about player fatigue as risk of players picking up injuries and missing important playoff games.

I am Spartacus
Actually quite looking forward to these games. I have yet to see the Academy players play.
dflman
Brian Clough said that he put his best team out for every match regardless of what it was and anyone who didn't perform wasn't picked for the next game (appearance money gone as well in those days I guess). He also mocked the offside rule changes by saying that anyone who wasn't interfering with play wasn't wanted in his teams
Blue Banshee
am I right in thinking the cup games are played in the week before the last league game of the season? so we only have one league game to play after the cup games? if the whole promotion playoff place rests on the last league game then fair enough, I can see the caution but if not....I'm sure the team would be up for winning us some silverware as well as promotion! they have the ambition and the talent - so why not!
