match balls

Do all match balls used in this league have to be the blue & yellow Mitre ones? I was looking at some photo's taken today that have a change of ball part way through to a blue & white ball. Just curious. I think all the pics I have taken of our league have the blue & yellow Mitre.

Maisie, during the 'knock about' whilst the referee and captains were sorting the kick off the match ball got swapped for one of the training balls. As soon as it went out of play it was changed for an official match ball. Only official match balls were used after that.

lol, it was not the Windsor v GFC game I was referring to. These were pictures taken by a photographer at another CCL Prem game I was looking at....

Maisie, it doesn't surprise me. Clubs are supplied, at a cost, a number of match balls at the start of the season. As you will have noticed at most grounds that balls end up flying out of the ground never to return. When this happens clubs just seem to pull out any ball they want, usually an official match ball from a few seasons ago.

When this happens it should be up to the referee to at least question why they are no using the current official balls. I am not saying that the match should be abandoned or anything but there should be some sort of penalty applied when clubs don't use the 'official' equipment. The rules of the competition state that the official ball of the competition should be used.

if they are the CCL balls from within the last 6 seasons, then they will all be the same ball (Mitre Max) with different stickers on, just some might be in a worse condition than others.
