SteveB
I have set-up a page showing the run in for all sides still in play-off contention. Too big to fit in the normal site template and will be hard to see on mobiles, but that will be sorted once some teams drop out the running! http://www.margate-fc.com/content/1st_team/promorunin.php
P.W.
Met Police look to have it easier than Canvey & Bury, so look to be our biggest threat. Bury still have to play 6 games against top 5 opponents (Lowestoft, Wealdstone & Whitehawk away + Lowestoft, Wealdstone & Margate at Home) . Canvey have 3 (Concord & Lowestoft at home & final away game at Wealdstone). Met Police have Margate at Hartsdown & Concord at home. We have no top 4 opposition but have Met Police at Hartsdown and Bury away. Our biggest handicap is playing 3 games (Lewes (A) / Met Police (H) + Kingstonian (H) in the space of 5 days (Thurs/Sat/Tues) - Ouch!
marksandwell
However we still have 24 points to play for which in theory could net us.81 points. I think mid 65-70 would get us in the play offs
michael
win the four home games-and pick up a few points from away games-and we'll be there or thereabouts. Winning the home games is the key-we should be capable-but ould and should are vastly different from actually doing it. So far, so good though just the same-and crdit all around
margateshot
There will be a lot of twists and turns before the season ends. Tomorrow, four of our main contenders play each other, which means at least two will drop points.
michael
Of course-the really good news is that with Thurrock losing yesterday, Margate are now mathematically safe from relegation. note to 'self : don't take any appointments for late afternoon/evening 30th April

marksandwell
Not wishing to get too excited but can someone confirm the following Play offs in our league are over 1 leg? 2nd V 5th? 3rd V 4th? With both 2nd & 3rd place teams with HOME Advantage? Who gets home advantage on final or is it at neutral ground?
Coffin Ender
Yes, one leg. Home advantage goes to highest placed team in any tie. So if we finish fifth we will be away whatever happens. Since the play-offs were introduced the winners have been teams who finished 2nd, 2nd, 4th, 2nd, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd and 3rd.
