What a performance!

Billericay were a transformed team from the last time I saw them. They got the ball down and played it with pace and purpose. Hayes were quite lightweight and didn't look that dangerous or creative at all. The only decent score Hayes & Yeading were going to get today was in a game of Scrabble.

Their best player by far was the captain in the Petr Cech egg-chasers headwear. He looked lively and worked hard to kick-start a team that didn't really compete.

The high score reflects how good Billericay were today and it hopefully its a result they can build on and take in to their next few games. This season is far from over and hopefully confidence should be high. Jay May had a good game, capped off with his great goal.

The only thing more inconsistent than the weather was the refereeing. In the first half I can't remember him making a decision that didn't appear to be correct but in the second half he was far better. I always think that it's a difficult job which involves hundreds of split second decisions, Chris Wild gave him an easy choice to make when he cleared the fence to dive in to the fans behind the goal. Funny but daft. There were a lot of silly comments about the refereeing being one-sided etc its annoying and

I feel H&Y's goal was undeserved though Town did get sloppy for the last 5-10 minutes though.

The highlight of the day was Billericay's beautiful physio! No wonder there were so many injuries.

All-in-all, a thoroughly entertaining afternoon.

COYB!!

So delighted for Jay May.

I have never seen a player persecuted by a referee in the way he was in the first half today. Whilst he is no angel in leaning on defenders, every 50/50 decision went against him and when he was booked, the Hayes and Yeading defender had his arm around his neck. It got to a stage where he gave up jumping for balls.

The referee was quite rightly given plenty of advice as he went off at half time - whether it was this or something was put in his tea, but he took more of a back seat in the second half. This allowed for a football match to take place and Jay bagged a brace, the first of which must be a contender for goal of the season.

The whole team deserve praise for keeping their cool after their treatment in the first half and hopefully, they can build on this victory. COYB

Fantastic performance and a thoroughly deserved three points. Great displays from front to back.

Agree with blue pilgrim, the treatment of May in the first half was shocking, and I thought Craig should have taken him off at half time, not because he had done anything wrong, but because he simply wasn't being allowed to even jump for the ball. Thankfully I'm not the manager and he produced a great second half display including a magnificent lob volley, and another great effort that drew a great save from their keeper. So chuffed for him.

The most pleasing thing was how few chances we gave them, even their goal was a fluke. When that went in there can't have been a home fan in the ground that didn't think 'here we go again', but all credit to the lads for pushing on and wrapping it up. The Chris Wild incident may have been a bit silly, but I'll take a booking for that any day. A moment to live long in the memory (especially if we stay up).

Hard to single out players after such a great team performance but I thought Nathan had an excellent game. Well done all though
