Worcester Park 0-1 MVSCR

A win's a win, and at this stage of the season, I will take it all day long, but what a truly horrible game of football.

Lots of verbals from the kick off, both sides, poor tackles, confrontations, and very little football played.

Half time was 0-0, with Park down to 10 men following a poor challenge on our winger, right in front of the dugouts.

Second half was little better, our full back probably survived a case of the red mist coming down, getting himself booked, and probably going close to a second.

Winning goal was a good strike though, from just inside the area - although i failed to snap it, having temporarily moved hands to pockets to defrost them!!

Bit of a break now, as no game until Tuesday week, when we entertain Farleigh Rovers

Farnham continue in their stoic run since the return of Dillon who scored the winner at Badshot Lea . That's 11 in 12 for Dillon. Hard work and team spirit saw Farnham win this well fought game. Well played to both teams well worth the £6

Report from frimley website

Bank Holiday Monday brings Eversley & California to the Recreation ground both teams chasing promotion this was a must win for Frimley Green.

Both teams started well Frimley playing a short and passing game and eversley playing more of a direct approach. Couldn’t really divide the teams in the first half both Frimley and Eversley going close but not really finding the finishing touch, Mepham had probably the best chance in the half but he saw his shot blaze over the bar after good work from Merriman down the right.

HT 0 – 0

In the second half Eversley started the stronger and controlled much of the first 25 minutes and two very good chances to put themselves a head but the Frimley woodwork kept the ball out. With the game opening up Frimley found some space and attacked, Merriman saw his shot just go passed the wrong side of the Eversley post. But it was on 80 Minutes that New Signing Matt Griffiths found himself free of the Eversley defence, he struck a low hard shot to the right of the Eversley goalkeeper which gave him no chance and sent Frimley in to the lead, Frimley 1 Up. A tough last 10 minutes of stern defending by Thumwood, Page, Griffiths & Hogg kept Eversley at bay and gave Frimley a valuable 3 points. full time result 1 – 0.

Gutted to not get the 3 points but we just didn't take our chances when on top..Good luck to frimley for rest of year.

Spelthorne 1-1 Westfield

A good point for us but a little dissapointed now to come away with all 3,

1st half we were the livelier side, hot the bar and forced the keeeper into a couple of good stops. Spelthorne are a good pasing side and organisd at the back, they had a good spell at the end of the half.

At the start of the second period a ball into the area is mis-cleared by ou defender bounces up and hits his hand, ref points to the spot. Awful decesion and one at the end off the game he apologised to our manager for , for not giving himself enough thinking time! We go one down and the home sides tails are up, they have a 15 minute spell where they have a 2nd rrightly disallowed for a foul on the keeper and force a good save. We then proceeded to take control with home side happy to sit back and Liam Parrington heads home with 11 minutes left following good work from one of our 'panic signings' All us last 10 as Sports hanging on but couldnt force a winner. All to play for - 6 sides still in it although SK cant afford many slip ups after 2 defeats over the weekend, very much hope they can stop the inform side Mole Valley next weekend

Sandhurst 3 v 0 Camberley

Not quite a true reflection on the game but you cant argue that a team winning 3-0 didnt deserve it ! I just hope that they give the 5 the credit he deserves for his clearance at 1-0. Top Draw.

Well, chose this game to watch as thought it would be exciting but what a damp squid. Well done Sandhurst 2 wins over the weekend. 3-0 did not reflect the possession or chances but it reflected the attitude of the teams. Sandhurst wanted it more and took their chances. Camberley were obviously missing players but with 2 defenders and a goalkeeper on the bench surely there were other players to fill the bench ? Was this not an opportunity to use the reserves and give people a chance?

Tooting Bec 1-2 Yateley Green

Great advert for the Elite League

Just going back to this game.

A draw would have been the correct result but credit to YGFC who were well organised and, as with the Old Farnboronions v Tooting Bec cup game recently, both benches and teams were excellently behaved. It was a lot warmer than Grand Drive that morning too!

I wonder if there is any leeway regarding step 6 (our Div 1) and lights/facilities in an effort to get the numbers up?

Or, perhaps a merged new league (with Sussex 2?) to solve the problem for two step 5 leagues regarding their second (step 6) tiers?

Was a good game to watch, I thought both teams were more concerned with not conceding then actually going for the win, so it was a game of few chances.

Would admit that Westfield had the best of the first half, and hit the bar with a deflected cross. Penalty was soft, and I would have been dissapointed I it was given against me. But there was a much stronger appeal tuned down in the first half when ball struck a defenders arm that was raised.

Once we scored from the spot, I honestly didn't think Westfield would get back into it as we then controlled the game and I'm not to sure about the disallowed goal. You can't breathe on a keeper nowadays and from my view it seemed that the keeper was beaten aerially by a challenge thy would not have been a foul anywhere else on the pitch against any other player. But that is what football has become I suppose.

However once Westfield got the equaliser, it was them who pushed on in the final ten minutes.

As for MVSCR, I think they will be too strong for kilburn, and I think the top three now will stay as is. Would be harsh on Eversley but MV have found form at the right time.

Sounds fishy to me.
