Win tonight and Saturday, the Burnham game could've thrown us right back into the title mix. 2 stupid errors by the sound of it and 2 dropped points against a team we should be looking to bury!

First Half, Barton weren't up to much and we dictated play without ever really looking all that threatening. However we should have led by at least 2 goals at half-time.

 

The Second Half on the other hand was more than a little shambolic, with stray passes, unforced individual errors, 2 gifted goals to the opposition, lack of communication, panic, and a general lack of shape, organisation or leadership. We got a lucky goal when the goalkeeper came out and completely missed the ball, but apart from that we didn't create anything approaching a clear-cut opportunity.

 

A team who can show a little more organisation and be a bit more level-headed would have beaten them comfortably tonight. This is without a doubt 2 points dropped as Barton were there for the taking, having lost their previous 5 league games.

Good to see Adam Logie on the scoresheet. Under used by Steve Bateman and now we no longer have Stuart Swift, we should tap in to Logie's shooting prowess from outside the penalty box. This is an area of attack [from any player] that we don't do enough of IMO.

Oh ! to have a quality hitter of the ball,in the mould of a Mark Hawthorne or a Gary Donellan.

We were never going to win every game, and Barton is always a tricky place to bring home the points.

Yes we should have killed the game off and yes the goals game from defensive mistakes, but these things happen and we must move on. 5 points from the playoffs with 3 games in hand is still very doable.

One thing on Barton that I pointed out last night...if they didnt spend the whole game timewasting (even when losing) they could probably do much better in this league, but they took an age to do everything.

3spirit, I would assume you wasn't there last night because apart from the goal, which was a tap in, Logies performance and control of the ball last night was abysmal.

 

Sorry to be harsh on Logie but it's the truth.

First goal was a complete blunder by Jacko.

 

For the second goal, didn't hear the call from Jacko to Brownie that he had time on the ball but it still looked like Jacko was beaten at his near post.

 

In defence of Jacko even the best keepers make mistakes.
