dflman
Started off well even dominating them then it it all went wrong. They are a strong well organised outfit as we saw tonight and knew all the tricks of dodgy offside claims, encroaching at throw ins etc etc that we don't seem to indulge in and their forward paly was incisive. Another small ref and a full moon didn't bode well for a result ! MOM for me by along way was Tommy W.

TM tried to many little dinks and tricks tonite and if we are taliking about MOM I would nominate IBE as his hold up play was very good, Bodkin as ever tried to run the game and sometimes the boys couldnt catch up with him. TW has got such a good touch but tonite was bundled off the ball constantly by a solid defender, JH needs to simplify his game at this level and Jermaine Brown needs to get back pretty damn quick
Cookie
Really dissappointed with the defending last night. Can't comment too much on their 3rd and 4th as wasn't near enough to see the errors we made though for their 3rd I could definately see one of their players with the ball at his feet with our defenders just standing there waiting to see what they would do rather than forcing the player in making an error but their 1st and 2nd goals they were catching us out with balls over the top of our full backs who were in turn caught napping by being too far out of position. We allowed them too much space and when they moved with the ball we,didnt close them down. instead we backed off and allowed them far too much time with the ball to finish off. As others have said we can't take anything away from the opposition as their pace and finishing up front was superb but we could and should have prevented them their chances at goal. We started very well and were looking really good but then failed to continue with the push we started out with. Neither team did badly but we were the culprits last night in defence and that was the main difference in winning or losing.Whilst we never gave up and justifiably so equalised we then made critical errors in defence which gave the opposition breathing space to go on and win the game.Even then we still had chances to pull things back but the damage had already been done really. Its all about the final play off spot now so we must win almost every game from now on and hope Canvey in particular drop points. We can still do this but we need to be less naive in our defending as was last night and get back to the solid defending we have achieved for most of this season! marksandwell
Wealdstone the best opposition we have seen at Hartsdown Park this season. Miles better than Whitehawk. As a wise man once said "Do you want some?"
Cookie
Without a doubt,on the night, far superior to Whitehawk in comparison but its consistency that have Whitehawk at the top and thats the ingredient for winning things.Even Wealdstone havent been as consistent throughout the season and thats why they sit just below Whitehawk. Cookie
I know some of you might say oh he's his favourite but Dolbys performances at full back, especially last night have been extraordinary. He is still a major force and an even bigger threat to oppositions i.m.o.up front but in filling in in the full backs role he hasn't let anyone down and has done superbly. He is showing maturity in that position and last night he stood out as my M.O.T.M. Gumps
marks right wealdstone were good, but we didnt help. after conceeding the third, then losing the ball from kick off and then conceeding again was shambolic there was a lot of ball watching and lots of standing still. but the first 15 mins or so we were playing at such a tempo that wealdstone couldnt cope, more of that and less of the other and we might make the playoffs. best hope wealdstone go up automatically tho!! upthegate
Yes, Wealdstone by far the better team last night. Lots of huffing and puffing by the gate but the difference in speed and class was there for all to see.

Got to agree Cookie. Was very unsure when he started playing at the back but seems to be settling in to it well, and he still has the ability to get forward when he can. blueblood
Know what you are saying "Tony", Dolby is growing leaps and bounds, though doing a Stirling job he is not a full back. We are definitely missing "JB",also loosing young Cambell as left a gaping hole. Margate reminded me of a early season "LIVERPOOL" , great passing, good running but missing that penetration in and around the box to Finnish teams off. As a squad we are not yet a finished article, 2 or 3 new faces needed then sign them up for next season. Above all else i came away from last nights game ENTERTAINED, I had watched us play some great football and, I had seen one of the best sides to play here in many a year. A very well drilled outfit. John Beals dad summed it up at the end "we have played a lot worse this season and won". M-O-M, I saw a lot of good from a number of people. Murphy yes, until he got greedy towards the end. Hand, Bodkin, Dolby, Beals. On reflection it as to be "Dolby" for the way he played the ball in tricky positions, his turns and on one occasion how he heeled a ball through his own legs to go around his opponent. All in all I did not loose any sleep.
dflman
I chose TW because I watched him all the game in particular and he was running into positions and laying the ball off really well and it was the other players not capitalising on it that got no result. He scored as well of course. Prefer Murphy to be on the left wing where he can clearly work well with the ever improving Dolby. Jamie Hand did one piece of play that utterley bamboozled the Wealdstone defence and put in a lovely cross only to see it headed over the bar so hope to see more of that and less of him getting the inevitable booking that fans of his previous clubs have warned us about. michael
Yes, Wealdstone by far the better team last night. Lots of huffing and puffing by the gate but the difference in speed and class was there for all to see. Pity about the result-but reading reports-no disgrace. Wealdstone were my tip for title at start of season-and may still get it. Don't forget though-itsd taken them about 7 years to get to this position. slow ,steady growth. If it does'nt happen for us this season-pity-but no disaster. Is wealdstone's steady progress based upon,stability/continuity of management, small improvement season by season, and a bit of money from decent cup runs in the last two seasons. If we can get those things going-we can achieve their level. seems we are not far off anyway-and with 9 games left-plenty of games to achieve that 5th play-off position-but getting to play-offs is meaningless-you need to win the thing and get promoted-and are we ready for BSS-its now a proper serious league which it was'nt when we were in bss about 7 years ago
Coffin Ender
BSS is still Mickey Mouse. Crowds last night - 170 at Tonbridge, 158 at Staines.
Dutch_Mike
Keep an eye on Met Police. Could easily pick up a lot of points in the run-in: Carshalton (H), Kingstonian (A), Hampton & Richmond (H), Thurrock (H), Us (A), Bognor (H), Concord (H), Hendon (H), Thurrock (A) Bury, on the other hand, have a bit of a nightmare run-in: still got to play Lowestoft twice, Wealdstone twice, alongside travelling to Whitehawk and hosting us
