Blues v Boreham Wood

Explanation from official website:

"Billericay Town's home Conference South league fixture with Boreham Wood has been put back 24 hours to WEDNESDAY 27th March (KO 7:45pm). The clubs discussed matters early on Saturday, taking into account ground and weather conditions and the weather forecast for the next few days. Both clubs agreed that it was very important to play the match before the Easter weekend. All advice suggested there was little chance of the game being played on Tuesday. It was agreed therefore that to provide certainty for supporters, players and match officials it was better to move the game back 24 hours to give the maximum opportunity for the game to be played, thereby avoiding the logistical difficulties caused by calling off on Tuesday and then trying to re-arrange the game for the following day."

Please spread the word!

Word on the street is that the game is expected to be very much ON.

Not a great set of results!

Dorchester Town 2-0 Farnborough

Dover Athletic 1-0 AFC Hornchurch

Havant & Waterlooville 2-1 Maidenhead United

Staines Town 3-1 Bromley

Sutton United 1-3 Weston-super-Mare

Tonbridge Angels 3-1 Eastleigh

3 points against Boreham Wood is a must. I know I keep banging on about support, but this is where we need it most.

One spawny win tomorrow night would see us in a better position than we started the week. It would also bring Maidenhead back into it. A win on Saturday (way ahead of myself now!) and that would drag Hayes into it! Where are those straws!?

Was this a point gained or 2 points lost - we will probably not know until the last kick of the season.

We introduced 3 new players to the team and to be fair they all contributed. It was a physical game with some hard tackling, not helped by an imbecile of a referee who clearly hailed from the Boreham Wood area.

Despite scoring first I felt we were second best for the first half and lucky to go in at 1-1. But the second half we really did go for it and perhaps were unlucky not to come away with all 3 points. A good goal from Alex Osborne, what a shame injury has blighted his season, and an excellent performance by Omar Beccles again.

Although we were a bit more robust in the middle I thought that Glenn Poole wide on the left lost his impact and actually we looked much more dangerous when Sam Lechmere came on.

Good debut from the keeper who despite letting one squirm underneath him for their goal, did make a few excellent saves. Bit nervous at the end when their number 10 was clear through but like he had the rest of the evening Mr Loic Pires went for glory and hit the trees rather than the goal ( fortunately for us !!)

Well done lads but we really do need 3 points on Saturday. A target of 15 points from 9 games may just see us stay up.
