Please dont. :( Guernsey not in my good books at the moment.

Well that's not my problem, Guernsey not being in your good books should not be a factor in someone choosing to record and upload the feature.

Give Smudge a break fellas. He will be upset as his bet is looking dodgy. Sorry Smudge, those big bu@@ers from Durham are a formidable obstacle.

The Sky Sports coverage that I watched this morning was on between 7-45 and 8-00am, presumably it will be repeated at around the same time, on the hour.

The feature is about Guernsey FC's huge backlog of fixtures, but does cover the helicopter drying the pitch out on the Saturday morning, the tremendous atmosphere at Footes Lane for the Vase game and a couple of the goals from the game.

Some fabulous shots of the Island and interviews with Tony Vance, Steve Dewsnip, Mark Le Tissier, Nic Legg and Deputy Mary Lowe.

Fantastic national football coverage for Guernsey FC and for the Combined Counties League.

Listened to the game on BBC Guernsey, very biased commentary indeed, very little noise from 4,290 paying Customers.Glad someone brought up the canny player bit,the sort of play that RZB excelled in last year, how you miss him.Low point of the day, several people in the Stands, actually opening their mouths, for the first time in 75mins,shouting out 'Cochrane your a disgace'obviously they have never been to a tension charged game.Sam Cochrane has given his all for Guernsey FC,They only probably had turned up on the day,to be part of the Prawn Sandwich,I WAS THERE crowd.the commentators seemed to think that Cochrane would be banned from next weeks game,do they have different rules in Vase games, thought ban kicked in ,in 21 days.

alot of players give there all for there club but a red is a red smudge your the first to shoot me down when i get one jesus you do love guernsey now

watched the highlights earlier guernsey looked like you were trying to walk the ball in or as an attacking player going into the box the pitch making it hard to get a shot off alot of players slipping over if it was a carpet i believe wouldve been closer . still just in it an hope you turn it around ! cockers red was correct flung an arm player did make a meal of it but as pointed out clever when a decision given all over the referee so maybe a little swayed ! thought guernsey looked sluggish, tired an not as sharp as ive seen think mr vance needs to give your boys a break else i can see you wining nothing

4290 is amazing, but the vast majority stand / sit there quiet as mice, complaining in fact whenever GFC give the ball away. We need younger fans who have passion, sad old geezers like me with nowt better to do, and free season tickets for the noisy manelanders.

I was getting quite frustrated with the crowd. I was starting most of the chants (and thankfully the usual suspects joined in) and Trumpet Man and Drummer Boy did a sterling job. When Spennymoor scored their third goal I did the 'stand up if you love Guernsey' to show the players we were still with them but hardly anyone joined me. After giving the crowd the evil eye and hand gestures to stand thankfully some joined me. It's like pulling teeth at times and my voice is well and truly knackered!

Spennymoor did a good job to nullify our attacking threat but I think we gave them a bit too much respect. If we had gone for our usual cavelier approach then we might of lost but we would of gone out roaring rather than a meow! Their players were far too clever physical and professional for us. The referee and assistant refused to take a action whenever we were pushed around and having our shirts pulled and generally did not favour us on the day. That's no excuse though because clearly Spennymoor are a fantastic team. I can understand why cockers lost his rag. I think I would of lumped their number 10 if he had clattered into the back of me like that and had experienced the pushing and pulling etc throughout the game that we did.

Come on you Lions, let's give a roar and take the game to them on Saturday. The dream is still alive...

I and my lad were singing and chanting as much as we could but there were not too many in our end of the Garenne Stand wanting to join in.

Where do you sit HKP. To the right of the tunnel below the bar? I'm at the scoreboard end.

I think we have to KISS and encourage the fans to join in. Give Roary a pointing stick and boards with the chants on. Get the halves of the stand singing 'Tony Vances green and white army' in turn against each other. Do the same with the 'clap, clap, clap Guernsey' chant. I don't know but I'm sure they can come up with something to create a more intimidating atmosphere for the opposition.

The guy next to me moaned every time we sang about how all the noise was guving him a headache was quite hilarious just made us sing louder

Bloney hell! That is just unbelievable. Was he eating a prawn sandwich at the time or was the noise putting him off even doing that!?

Yes I sit on the right ot the tunnel, makes me think I am at The Emirates at times! I'd like it to be more natural chanting, without the need of the Pussy Cat to drive things. Probably don't need him breaking anymore advertising hoardings!

You have to remember that many have never been to a proper match in their lives or have come from Priaulx football where Ive not heard any singing since the 90's.

I think your'e ALL being a bit harsh really :) it was much noiser than normal and I enjoyed it :) great atmosphere

I am a season ticket holder in the first bank as you come up the stairs and most of the people that sit around us are either familys or older retired people so they are a bit reserved I guess.

Go Green Lions!!!

not everyone actually wants to sing and dance when they go to a football match. It can indeed help to spur the team on but not everyone goes along with the intention of an afternoon of karaoke. some people just want to watch the football. Seems a bit harsh to me to slate the crowd who turned out in their droves. They're hardly a prawn sandwich brigade are they...unless they are part of the very small number of guests who get a bit of buffet (probably prawn sandwich!) in the rooms on right of the stand. Most of the crowd have turned out because they want to go and watch and hopefully see the team do well while standing in the cold stood on muddy grass banks! hardly the kind of people Roy Keane was having a dig at with his over used term!

Guernsey crowds are pretty reserved it is very true though!

that big Neil Ruddock lad for Spenny seemed pretty keen for a scrap after the sending off, a few of them made another effort at getting a scuffle going with a foul 10 minutes later. Hope there was no trouble from them in town that night!

The atmosphere at Guernsey was very odd when we went out there with organised singing & clapping, lyrics sheets and of course that bl**dy lion (fine line between 'funny' and 'inappropriate'). I remember at the time we likened it to people pretending to be football supporters, although I appreciate that is doing a disservice to a vast number of Guernsey fans (the non-vocal majority?). The ground seemed to largely consist of grannies and small children, although some might argue that just says something about Guernsey itself. ;)

This thread is making me chuckle though, as though a team can win simply by being 'bigger' and talking to the referee. Perhaps that shows a touch of naïvety on Guerney's part? After all, it's the first time they've faced a Northern League side who, along with some of the Eastern clubs, are easily a step above the CCL and perhaps it was inevitable that Guernsey might struggle.

It's a shame for Guernsey (and the CCL as a whole) not to reach the final, although of course it's not over yet, just rather unlikely.

I also see they're still allowing people to stand on the track. I hope that the 4,290 people had more than six toilet cubicles to go in! One of our number queued until the 65th minute, and there were only 1,800 there then.
