Beaten by the better team today but was still a great day for the club and the community as a whole more than anyone expected at the start of last season . Also got to meet some great people from spenny lost 3-1 but buzzing and got to believe next week we can still do this.

4290 is amazing, but the vast majority stand / sit there quiet as mice, complaining in fact whenever GFC give the ball away. We need younger fans who have passion, sad old geezers like me with nowt better to do, and free season tickets for the noisy manelanders.

The negativity from a couple of new people who were sat behind me was awful. How I did not turn round and say something is beyond me. They kept wanting the ball lumped forward despite their centre-half winning everything in the air.

Listened to the game on BBC Guernsey, very biased commentary indeed, very little noise from 4,290 paying Customers.Glad someone brought up the canny player bit,the sort of play that RZB excelled in last year, how you miss him.Low point of the day, several people in the Stands, actually opening their mouths, for the first time in 75mins,shouting out 'Cochrane your a disgace'obviously they have never been to a tension charged game.Sam Cochrane has given his all for Guernsey FC,They only probably had turned up on the day,to be part of the Prawn Sandwich,I WAS THERE crowd.the commentators seemed to think that Cochrane would be banned from next weeks game,do they have different rules in Vase games, thought ban kicked in ,in 21 days.

The commentator is wrong, he will miss three league matches. As I posted earlier there were a number of new fans (guess there would be given the extra 3,000 fans turning up!), and some of their comments were embarrassing to say the least.

Sam has tweeted an apology and as we all knew he would has accepted he was wrong.

Listened to the game on BBC Guernsey,

Good! Local radio at its best.

Totally agree, Zico would have excelled in a match like this, hes a top class player plus has played against teams like this at a higher level. All teams have injuries but losing the likes of Zico, Gus Mackay, Jason Winch, Rhys Jordan, Simon Geall and Ben Coulter was too much in the end. But I for one am still a bloody proud Guern and the effort by so many to get the game on and for over 4,000 (1 in 15 of the population of the island) fans to turn up was quite simply a joy.

The tie is NOT over, the players have fantastic never die attitude (spirit of Erith) and whilst it is a massive ask to win up there by three goals you simply never know. Hopefully on a better surface Guernsey can get the ball down and play the football we all know they are capable of. Hopefully if those on here and other forum that think we have no place in the CCL can see we are trying to fly the CCL flag as high as we can and doing everyone proud.

Sams a great captain.

Anyone seen the Speenymoor number 10 deliberately smashing into him, I have watched the video over and over and it looks very deliberate to me.

Video here http://youtu.be/k2yElZnx8aU

watch it from 1:55

Sam shouldnt have used his elbow though that wasnt right.

Also is the Speenymoor No.5 in training to be a ref as he spent most of the match speking to the ref and arguging with him etc.
