We in the Combined Counties League wish you all the best in your Semi Final 1st leg tie v Spennymoor Town today.Hope all the hard work put in by volunteers,as regards getting the game on,pays dividends. To be honest it has always been a dream of mine to support a true COMMUNITY CLUB,you should all be very proud of yourselves for doing just that.Alas Community spirit in the U.K.has long ago vanished,so my dream will never happen.HAVE A GREAT DAY,COME ON YOU GREEN LIONS,MAKE US ALL PROUD.

I see from reading the Spennymoor website that the visit to Guernsey is costing them £25,000.

"Spennymoor have had to charter a flight from Newcastle and must stay over two nights, with the total bill coming in at £25,000.

Some of it is being subsidised by Moors chairman Brad Groves, while the FA cover a small part through expenses, leaving a shortfall of £15,000.

But thanks to generous local support, the club has been able to plug the gap in order to make the trip, with fans enjoying discounted return flights for just £150 each.

Mr Groves said: “It’s a special game for the club but with it comes a special bill – thankfully a lot of businesses and supporters have dug deep to try and help us fund the trip."

Obviously Guernsey are making no contribution to Spennymoor's costs for this game.

For those that may not have seen, the pitch has been worked on by volunteers throughout the night. Fantastic to see such spirit in the island. Let's just hope the game goes ahead.

Possible spin from Spenny, mind you as they have increased ticket prices by 66% for the 2nd leg they can afford it.
