Club statement from Knaphill Football club

Recommended Posts

Just to make sure that the normal rumours don't start being spouted or pointless comments made, I have decided to step down as joint manager and will be assisting Phil until the end of the season. It has nothing to do with the club as such, they have backed the pair of us fully and done everything to support us since we joined.

We joined the club as joint managers but I have decided that a joint manager situation isn't going to work in the long run for either me or the club. As it is my decision to change the set up I have stepped down to allow Phil to move forward as he sees fit. I am going to continue to be involved until the end of the season to ensure that there is not too much disruption during the remainder of the season and we finish the best we can.

Well said Kev. You've done great stuff at Knaphill and the results since Xmas show how the team has progressed. There's also a great team spirit amongst the lads too and that's invaluable.

Hopefully I'll see you tomorrow at the match if it goes ahead and we can bag another three points to secure position in the league

:)

I can only assume that you two were part of that successful regime that secured Knaphill 3 points from 6 games ,what saddens me is that you lot are still bitter 6 months later , please get a life and worry about your own clubs

Fortunately I've never been involved with Knaphill every season there is something that goes wrong not just this season can't wait for next seasons disaster

Forgive my butting in but this isn't 'something that has gone wrong'. It's a managerial change perfectly adequately explained by bailer.

Once again some folks are trying to make hay where there's none to be had. The club are doing a good job building the squad and bailers announcement shows he cares about the club and them moving forward.

Some people just like to be negative all the time. There is no drama here. Just a change is all. Stuff happens in none league. It's not a full time job and pretty much everyone does it around their real jobs. Lets not make judgements for the sake of argument shall we?

I've never been apart from Knaphill but am friends with Phillip. The calibre of players they had under Phil to what they have now don't even compare. 3 of them regular starters for Egham.

It begs the question if they can do at the top of the Premier why couldnt they do it at the bottom of the Div 1 ???

Good question OTB, I believe the team needed to gel and I think they would have turnt things around and would of been strong challengers for next season but hey ho that's my opinion and I'm not always right but looking at the squad Phil had I believe inevitable that things would of changed.

More likely to be the players now at Egham know the management there wouldn't put up with them taking the p Duncs. They went to Knaphill for a cruise up clearly. I think I've said it before on here - Knaphill have been going in the wrong direction for a while now. Bailer didn't stand much of a chance down there - they seem more concerned with having a nice programme than getting the thing that matters most right. Look at the players that have left there in the last few years. Why, I don't know, but there are clearly issues. Delusions of grandeur.
